My neighbor, a straight-up, chain-smoking newspaper columnist (with the competitor, years back now), well, he has two toy chihuahuas. Small, nasty. He's about six-foot tall.

Walking Claude or Bart, he was followed, tree to tree, by a barred owl. Wisely, he picked up the dog for the trip home.

"Fuckin' bird was gonna have him for dinner!"

Rat terriers can be found hunting rats on the streets and alleys of Manhattan on Summer nights!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm
Stevel:

The dane looks like our neighbor, Romeo. Freaking, huge, but awfully nice.

They scare the hell out of people when they get off the leash. A slender pony galloping dead at you and your dog. Walking the terrier, I saw Romeo hit the front door at a silent, dead run. I reached down, picked up my dog while turning my body abrubtly to the left, as Romeo clipped my hip a glancing blow, like a high school football player's missed block.

Not sure what would have happened, but it looked like he was going to pick up the terrier, on the run. Perhaps she had been rude to him, previously/likely. We'll never know.
