Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Favoriting April 17, 2014: The Enemy - Robot Bizness - Savage Cabbages - Flea Finds - Calls!

Listen to this show: Pop-up listen Pop-up player!

Starcastle  Elliptical Seasons   Favoriting Starcastle  Epic  1976  LP  Borrowed this from a friend in college. Al Nordine, where are you?

A story ,,, "The Enemy." Words and music by Clay Pigeon
A listener pointed out that the stereo panning of the music in the story is distracting. I can see where it might be after a time. I didn't even hear it as I recorded it with my tiny 1986 headphones on. Kind of a drag that it would distract from things, but too late to change it now,

This story is similar to another I did on the show called "Yankee Eagle Leader," though that one was more realized with sound effects. I wish I'd taken the time to doctor this new one up a bit. Straight reading can get pretty boring after a while, especially if the story is sketchy to begin with. The Enemy was inspired by politics and the ever-escalating ferocity of it. The division of the country, and the ascent of corporate owned government. Gun loving culture and violence in general. I guess maybe you figured that out. I don't know.

Jordan De La Sierra  Gymnosphere - Song of the Rose (excerpt)   Favoriting Gymnosphere - Song of the Rose - Music for the Well-Tuned Piano  Unity  1977  LP  Music behind DJ.

The Jungle Brothers  I'll House You (Show Mix)   Favoriting   Idlers  1988  12"  I have no idea why the vocals are so subdued but it makes me mad.

I went to see a local cover band at a beach bar last weekend. Very sparse audience...just friends and family. It's hard to get people to come see your band these days. Nobody has disposable income I guess. I made a point of clapping and saying they were good to the bartender.
