BEST version of "Truffle"! Hi DJ Duane + everyone
Avatar 12:13pm
Jan Audun Uretsky:

It's interesting, George wrote this about Clapton around the time his GF Patty split for Clapton. George always swore that it was not a swipe at Eric… Hmm, I'd say passive aggressive perhaps?
Avatar 12:21pm
Jshatan:

I don't think it was a swipe - just gentle ribbing about Eric's chocolate addiction. From what I remember, Derek Taylor wrote the "you know that what you eat you are" line, which does add a slightly malevolent tone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
Mike East:

A groovy start, DJ!
Avatar 12:27pm
Jan Audun Uretsky:

Jeremy… And the teeth having to be pulled is what kind of line?
  12:30pm
P-90:

Ibelieve the song was written a while before it was recorded, George was teasing. Clapton had complained that the dentist told him to lay off candy, which George knew he couldn't resist (addictive personality much?) and the flavor names came off an actual candy sampler box.
The "You are what you eat" stuff came (via Taylor) from the title of a movie that was popular at the time.
Avatar 12:34pm
Jshatan:

It's just too bad Eric never wrote a rejoinder about George's hemorrhoids.
