Hey there, James and V Priceless!
  12:00pm
Dean:

Happy Old Year. Can't listen today, but I must correct some information I lodged here earlier this month. The Winter & Winter disk with an attractive bleed-through is not, I repeat, NOT, Uri Caine's Wagner e Venezia, as I stated. It is Venezia la Festa, also on W&W. Many apologies for misleading the reader- and listener-ship here.

Ted Templeman is brilliant.

Pre-Doobie Brothers?

Actually, it's Templeton, not Templeman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm

Way-pre. Right after Harper's.

Actually, no Tony. It's Templeman. Templeton was the "twins."

Oh yeah -- right you are.

Is there a version of Light My Fire on The Letteremen's "Different Strokes" album?

Toughest question defending my music history Ph.D.: How many trombones were in the big parade?

This is more embarrassing than The Mentors' "Woman from Sodom."

I urge all to check out "Mac Sabbath" - a Sabbath tribute band comprised of McDonalds characters. Slayer McCheese on guitar...amusing, at least for a few minutes...

Be sure to listen to the lyrics in the next track, which is another song poem. I'm wondering: Was it a prank, ala "Blind Man's Penis"?

I've had FMU on all day and we have had a whole lotta swinging classic covers. Think I'll head down to the Starlight Lounge later. Very nice.

This Clouds track isn't a cover ... but might as well be. Sounds totally like the Doors, no? Especially for a British band.

One thing about moving from the East to the West Coast is that there so many new local private-press records to discover. Many are still lying in wait throughout Portland.

this could be an Association out-take from "Renaissance" era. Sounds like Terry Kirkman a little.

Is the stream "skipping" (like as in a record) occasionally, or is it just a problem on my end?
Avatar 2:11pm
Tony Coulter:

@ NGH: Not aware of any stream problems .. and there have been no skipping records. Just good old scratchiness.

Avatar 2:50pm

I liked Amelie, definitely worth a watch. It might have been over-hyoed, but I thought it was fun. I finally got around to watching "Momo" (1986), by Johannes Schaaf. Based on a book by Michael Ende (who did The Neverending Story). Good fun. You can find the Englsih dub on YouTube
