Uncle Michael:

I love the WhoKinks!
  11:25am
Marc:

Ryan Seacrest is nauseating.
  11:30am
Marc:

Taylor Swift is more nauseating.
  11:37am
JakeGould:

I’m not that upset with Taylor Swift. But Ryan Seacrest is bleagh. No personality. All of those New Year’s Eve things on TV are just… They could all be CGI generated at this point.
Avatar 11:37am
drewo:

The camerawork in Birdman is amazing. Most of the movie was shot in extremely long takes, as if the director was shooting a play (appropriate as the setting for Birdman is a playset). Cinemaphotography aside, it was an okay movie and Ed Norton was fun to watch.
  11:38am
Listener John:

I think that Jimmy Buffett must have heard "Blackeyed Joe's" before he wrote "Cheeseburger in Paradise." The list of foods & what goes on a cheeseburger sound and rhyme the same. Just a thought . . .
Avatar 11:38am
Michael Shelley:

The lack of imagination in the presentation of New YEars Eve TV is really astounding.
  11:40am
JakeGould:

Also, as a born and bred New Yorker… Times Square is not the most amazing place on Earth to focus all of one’s attention on.

YES, Birdman has style - but not enough substance

@Listener John: I think so too -- was just doing some Google-fu to find out, but the results were inconclusive.

Speaking of the food list check out "Red's" by the Morrells: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X87mfrXqcwA

What says rock 'n' roll more than name-dropping Barry Goldwater in your song?
  11:47am

Is there an "Indiana Sun" version of that song?
Avatar 11:50am
Juke Joint Jonny:

A little late to the party, but let me throw in the observation that Pitbull is apparently the new King of New Year's Eve now Dick Clark's kaput. For my money the only tv worth watching is Kathy Griffin torturing Anderson Cooper on the CNN.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am
Gaylord Fields:

Extremism in the playing of rock 'n' roll is no vice.

AZ Dave:

27 degrees was the high at my place yesterday. 6000 feet, just outside Prescott. Sunny all day, though.

Speaking of excellence in right-wing rock n roll, check out the records made by George Wallace Jr. while his dad was governor, but before he became Alabama secretary of state.

Gaylord! After hearing Rex's Xmas show, I immediately bought those TV pilot books and gifted them to my friend. He just texted me "Vicki Lawrence played Mrs. Dracula, who moved from Transylvania to the midwest with her husband."

Gaylord, did the Rivieras really break up, or are they just denying the world their creativity ala John Galt?
