Only Tony's show is prerecorded (for a variety of technical reasons). The rest of the Drummer Stream shows are all live live live!

Many have reported that the think the audio quality of the GTDR stream is better than that of the main WFMU stream. I'd like to think it's because we are much nicer people.

Yesterday Zombo [a local DJ on Carnegie Mellon's radio station] played a track from a group named Plastic Eye Miracle. It was lo-fi audio collage, the sort of thing that I appreciate, so I set out to learn more about the group and locate some of their recordings.
Discogs reports that the group originated in Ohio and was active during the late eighties and early nineties. All of their material was released on self-published cassettes.
A Google search revealed two things right off the bat. The original album titled Plastic Eye Miracle was from an evangelist named Ronald Coyne who claimed that he was able to see through his plastic eye due to divine intervention. Also, an album with that title from noise rockers the God Bullies came out in 1990.
References to Ronald Coyne and the God Bullies dominated the Google search results. I had to sift through many pages of results and experiment with several different search parameters to locate the playlist from Tony Coulter's Tape Hiss show in which he featured the group Plastic Eye Miracle. Comments for the show were very positive, so that encouraged me to continue my quest.
So you see, Tony's Tape Hiss is one of the few places to come when you want to hear rare and unheard cassettes by the likes of Plastic Eye Miracle!

If we drop a Y3K pledge, can Tony use his Don Corleone voice until summer? :D (Not that I can, but I can dream.)

No worries about the pledge -- next week will be wonderful too!

Absolutely not. You can be past or future, too. Any pledge that comes in during a prize drawing is eligible, regardless of the physical coordinates of the pledger.
