ok this confusional quartet sounds at least a little like "back in the ny groove."
  12:14am
rich:

good morning jake and kurt. slightly like bitnyg

JakeGould:

Dipping into the 90s.
  12:25am
JakeGould:

Louise Despont is really good. Thanks for the visuals.
  12:26am
rich:

for a moment
  12:28am
JakeGould:

I assume the moment is the 1990s. Not the visuals.
  12:29am
rich:

yes the 90s are a moment

Good evening, fellow carcass fans.

Look at this pic of a raccoon that climbed up a crane. 58 stories for a tiny raccoon! www.theatlantic.com...

JakeGould:

That was my non-sequitur.

JakeGould:

The L train is not running record fair weekend? Damn you MTA!
  1:06am
rich:

yes it sucks but both the A and the 7 are supposed to be running that weekend so you should be able to get to the G easily enough.
  1:20am
JakeGould:

@rich: I live in Bay Ridge on the R line, so Smith & 9th is an option to get the G.
  1:24am
rich:

yes the people from the other direction must get there too

Good morning everyone!

good morning guido

“The people from the other direction must get there too.” That sounds like something.

Isn't that 4th & 9th? (Those with an unlimited card can also get out at Atlantic-Barclays & walk a couple of blocks to the Fulton G station.)
  2:03am
JakeGould:

@Ike: Yeah, 4th and 9th. Or get off at Atlantic Avenue—or even Dekalb Avenue—and then walk over to the Hoyt-Schmermerermerermerhorn station.

I can't wait for Squarepusher!!
Avatar 2:11am
Ĩk∑:

Atlantic looks closer to Fulton than Hoyt-Schmergelbergelhorn.
  2:15am
JakeGould:

@Ike: Looks can be deceiving. I lived near Atlantic for years and that whole crazy Flatbush intersection can be a nightmare to cross. If you get off and just walk to Hoyt-Schmergelbergelhorn it’s quicker and more direct.

Gary Lucas never stops to impress me.
  2:24am
rich:

yeah that's a pretty nice record that i had no idea existed until i came across it a couple of months ago
Avatar 2:30am
Ĩ k є:

@Guido, if you don't mind my correcting you, I believe that should be "never ceases to impress" or "never stops impressing me." I'm not sure I can explain why though. </pedantic>

Your help is appreciated Ike!
As I think about it, it is the same in German.
Avatar 2:37am
ikє:

So you're originally from Italy, is that right? Is German your second language?

Americans often get pissy if I correct them, but Europeans seem to like it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45am
Guido from Cologne:

No, I'm German.

Guido is Italian name (with Germanic roots) and was very popular in the 60ies.
The name traveled back to Germany via switzerland.

To be exact it was a Swiss emcee who was part of the quiz team of the German version of "whats my line", who was very smart and very handsome who kicked the popularity off.
