Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17am

New Schedule reportedly *starts* June 9th (which isn't what you asked.)
I shall be listening horizontally in the dark.

Please don't feed the troll, @RevRab. :) (Long history, not worth recounting. It occasionally lulls you into thinking it'll behave... but always ends up slipping into tiresome shtick AGAIN. And AGAIN. And AGAIN.)

cheri:

OHH NO ike is here.

I've never been disappointed by Richard Youngs, and tis Circuit des Yeux is new to me. Thanks Nick!
Avatar 12:26am
Ike:

Eh, jeez, I can't even take my own advice. Explicating re: the troll is, in and of itself, feeding the troll. What a conundrum. The music is great, though!

I've really been away from the boards this last two weeks, I've seen references, Ike, but I missed the action.

What's up NGH? Did you make it to the Rec Fair? I liked the new space. Glass walls! Lots of light.

I think the lovely Mr. McGasko played summa that White Eyes earlier today... Good stuff!
Avatar 12:39am

I made it a week too late (saw my friend play at the same space live for the Brooklyn Design Festival thingy), as I was broke, as per usual for the Record Fair. It happens every year, and my wife frowns upon me taking up more space w/ new rekkids.

i'm checking out now nick, night see you soon.

Next time you should come see it and say hi, that is, if you think you'd have the willpower to resist buying anything. Maybe just volunteer (then you get in free). Don't bring more than a few bucks and then you won't be too tempted. Watch movies in the AV Lounge instead! That's what I do sometimes.

So, I just found out Amazon did a TV series of the Philip K Dick, novel, "The Man in the High Castle". I've read the book, a few years back, and considering the subject matter, and his other books, I was let down (but still an awesome book, nonetheless). I wonder if the TV series is actually any good (premise, Japan and Germany divide the US after WWII.)

eh up Nick and all ,, nice set. diggig' it
Avatar 1:06am
Ike:

NGH, only the pilot episode is available now, and it's pretty good. Very atmospheric. They're still working on a full first season. (Agreed on the book; not quite what I was expecting, but not bad.) You don't even need Prime to watch the pilot episodes of their various shows. Pilots were free for all the last time I checked.

Amazon's Bosch -- not as good, don't bother. Nice cinematography, great actors, but sloppy writing. But see Hannibal (great realization of a terrible premise; Mads Mikkelsen utterly demolishes Anthony Hopkins) if you can stand the creative gore. It's a mad fever dream. Also: The Americans.

Hi all! The record fair space was nice. I forgot what DJ said it, but they implied that all the sunlight helped kill off the odor of some collectors. So mean, but so funny.

This sounds a bit like one of Philip Glass' Qatsi trilogy scores redone for chiptunes. Interesting!

@NickName: Whoa! Giving me nice flashbacks here. I played Atari 400/800 games back in the day, but C64 music was pretty amazing. www.youtube.com...
  2:08am
Nick Name:

@JakeGould: Atari 400/800 was great too, i played the Vic 20 before the C64.
Rob Hubbard composed a lot of the C64 games, he was the first person devoted to composing sound and music at Electronic Arts (EA) in 1988

@NickName: He’s not in this pic, but when I think of the early creative days of Electronic Arts I think of this poster: www.flickr.com...

Good Morning Nick and Namophiles. Joining very late (sadly) and a little bit tipsy (happily) to find that I missed all this good stuff. Some DJs, you can't turn your back on 'em, you'll regret it. I know, I know, "archives"....
