  4:57pm

@ Sean B.: Well put! Fats: criminally underrated as an influence on tons of later artists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm

- maybe even a case Rock'n'Roll was born in N'Orleans - not Memphis...well, not one place I guess...

Sean B.:

@P-90 How old is Fats?; I would put 1000 bucks they could walk him onstage ANYTIME and he would still sound like he was 20 years old. There's not a hell of alot of rock and roll artists that could do it..i dunno.

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

When Katrina happened, Fats was unaccounted for @ 1st & presumed lost - & then found OK - & afterwords played benefits for the City & such: supremely excellent...
Avatar 5:08pm
Sissophonic Cheryl:

Great show, TOPT!
  5:09pm
P-90:

I assumed for many years that Fats was gone! Because he went back so far and laid so low for so many years. I'm not up on the details, but I recall there was a "scare" for some period of days (weeks?) after Katrina hit because Fats was not accounted for. But yes: an under-recognized inspiration for a LOT that came after, if not on specific musical points, definitely on that Genuine-ness, that authenticity that you referred to, @Sean.

Was that true that he was gonna "go down with his ship"?
