Nick! Yes. Proggy. Do you take into consideration that your first song will follow the sounds of a chimp?

Hey Kids!

P-90:

Doesn't everything sound good following Dave's chimp tones?

cheri:

nick, i know you don't normally take requests but do you have any "spike jones jr" tunes at the station? i asked dave the spazz, but i got no answer from him.
  12:30am
Nick Name:

hi JG / @rw: not yet, but i may do one day, ha ha. / @P-90: i spaced a few weeks back: i listen to fmu on Sennheiser's 125's - had them for years and I'm really used of them.

I never tire of this Ride track....., oh, the Mimi & Richard Farina track was tops too!
  12:52am
JakeGould:

Ride! Such a great, somewhat forgotten band! They and other Brit-pop bands tend to be forgotten thanks to Nirvana and American Indie dominating in the early 1990s.
  12:54am
MONEYBAG$:

I have had to wait 23 years for Ride to come around these parts
  12:54am
P-90:

Wow, i hadn't heard anything from that "Brain Damage" album in years and years, I'd forgotten all about it. Early 80's classic.
Avatar 1:04am
northguineahills:

I don't know, the clubs I went to in HS and college down south played a lot of "Brit pop" w/ American indie, but they were smallish clubs.
  1:04am
cheri:

I got to get going, goodnight nick and all!
  1:06am
cheri:

see you all next week!
  1:09am
JakeGould:

@northguineahills: Well, there are always exceptions to the rules. But bands like “Th' Faith Healers” disappeared from popular consciousness the second Nirvana became and thing.

Īke:

Just before the broadcast of the live Ride set from Barcelona, Brian & Liz joked that next Curve will have to get back together. I wish! That's my favorite British band of the 90s, but they already broke up & got back together circa 1995-96, and were even less successful afterwards. Too bad they were 20 years ahead of the times with the getting back together thing.

JakeGould:

FWIW, Nick the Ride track inspired me to go through my ticket stub collection scans. Names of venues that no longer exist: The Marquee, The Academy… Damn…

Man, I really dug Curve, but I only stumbled onto them in '94.

Lush, Ride, Stone Roses and Happy Mondays (in small doses) was my thing back then.

P-90:

Ride's live set at Barcelona was very tight, I was impressed. I know their fans have been lobbying for a reunion tour for years.
Avatar 1:41am

Yep, Jake, that's the stuff. Final proper album was 2002, then they crumbled for good. Oh well.

Woah! I was having a problem with the pop-up archive links a few hours ago, but I thought it was just me! I figured Slime Warner was fucking with me again. Clearly I was wrong.

@Ike: Oddly sad, cool that the band is on Bandcamp. At least their tunes are out there, easy to access and easy to link to for the Millenials with their mobile devices.
