It's cool. I feel more comfortable when I'm a little anxious. In agreement with cklequ. Glad you're still here for the Summer!

@Jake - loved your comment on Mary's show about the Proclaimers. I detest then vehemently and they're an embarrassment to my country. Recently, a movie was made based on where I live and the fuckers did the soundtrack. Utter bullshit.

Cool Jack , I'll give you a little shout out!!

@Stanley Proclaimers kind of outstayed their welcome (if they ever had one!) like many who don't know when to quit and become sad parodies

@Simon - too right

RIP Ornette. I guess at least he didn't die young like Ayler, Coltrane, Dolphy etc. But he will be irreplaceable

I can't remember if being 15 yrs old particularly sucked or not. It all kind of sucks but it's all kind of great too. I feel it's the suckiness that keeps us moving.

And JH, I'm wondering what music you were using to try to impress the girls.
Avatar 🎙 3:47am

Hmmm I can't even remember......Sun Ra, and Flipper I remember freaking out about when I was a kid. My Music taste wasn't as well developed as Jack's at 15.
Avatar 3:48am

you didn't have the internet though...

John Frusciante's first solo album too, but that didnt come out until I was a senior in High School.

I used to go to Midnight Records on 23rd street and just buy stuff randomly. I bought Daydream Nation there and it changed my Life..

We had a programme in the UK called "Transmission" that was on at about 4am on a Tuesday morning. I used to set the VHS to record and watch it in the morning before going to school.

This David Prescott.... holy crap.
  3:56am

I'd call Sun Ra and Flipper pretty sophisticated for 15. I was 15 in 1977 and listening to the early stirrings of Punk/New Wave when I could find them. I was a pretty huge Eno fan by then too.

We had a show in LA called New Wave Theater but that was a little later. More like early '80s. I think there may be some episodes on YouTube.

But I was too scared of girls at 15 to share weird music with them. Maybe still at 52 or however old I am.

I thought if i found a girl who dug the same music as me I could survive high school , that didnt happen.
