Cool sounds are helping me not to flip out. Praise be to the Bluminatron.
  9:11pm
JakeGould:

@Ike: Don’t flip out. I watched an episode of Baretta once where a guy was flipping out and they gave him tons of orange juice and chocolate. That was for heroin withdrawal, but hey… Orange juice and chocolate.

hi, Mr. Daniel Blumin! Your premium CD arrived yesterday. A great album and a beautiful packaging!

Orange juice and chocolate for all! And ice cream!
  9:28pm
JakeGould:

@Jake: Around Bay Ridge—and pretty much every Turkish sweet store—they sell these Ulker Chocolate Covered wafers for 50 cents a pop. Really good stuff. Similar to the Polish Prince Polo chocolate covered wafers… But made in Turkey. www.obsessivesweets.com...
  9:29pm
JakeGould:

Err, I meant… @Ike… Not to myself. Duh.

i was approaching flip out yesterday cuz of work madness and that somehow led me to take an epic late night 5 hour walk from my Greenpoint apartment to the Coney Island boardwalk... it was pretty awesome and stress reducing.
Avatar 9:31pm

New schedule insufficiently stored in short term memory. Will improve. Not flipping out, and yet, flipping.

doca! Freeform blessslings to ye!
Avatar 9:32pm
Ĩkє:

Ah yes, I've had those! They're not bad. Found them at a Polish 99-cent store in Greenpoint, a bit counterintuitively. May have been cheaper than 50 cents there, actually.

oh! and i got a large spumoni ice cream at Spumoni Gardens along the way. man that was good.

Wow Steve, I've gone on epic city walks (once I went from midtown to Riverdale) but that beats anything I've done. Sounds great. L&B Spumoni -- cool. If you're ever in Brighton Beach, check out some of the Russian groceries w/by-the-pound takeout items, like Brighton Bazaar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm
Daniel Blumin:

Woah, Steve! That's some walk! Beats my longest by two hours! Spumoni much deserved! Fleep, welcome to Friday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm
Daniel Blumin:

map! indeed! Ike, BB - great place!
  9:38pm
JakeGould:

@steve: Whoa! That is one mega walk. I’ve done walks like that myself, but not 5 hours and that distance. Kudos! I mean I used to ride my bike from Brighton Beach to Prospect Park when I was a teen and stressed out… But wow… Man… Kudos! Spumoni is a great way to celebrate a walk like that.

its the second time i did it. first was coney island back to greenpoint. its a really epic and fascinating and hypnotic thing to do. im wondering where to go next... maybe queens or greenpoint to city island.
  9:53pm
JakeGould:

@steve: Just out of curiosity, was there any main road you hit for the journey? Ocean Parkway or Coney Island Avenue? Maybe you should try walking to Floyd Bennet Field or even over the bridge to Breezy Point.

hmm lemme think. i did... buncha random streets to Barclays Center, down 5th Ave to Bay Ridge Parkway, took that many miles to some random sidestreet (E 13th maybe?) to 86th st (where Spumoni Gardens is) to Ave X to Ocean Parkway to the boardwalk

herb.nyc:

hi DB. yr still playing esoteric stuff. yeah!
  10:12pm
JakeGould:

@steve: Kudos to the Bay Ridge Parkway walk. That area is so oddly quiet and the streets are seemingly empty like all the time. Very surreal experience. Like walking through suburban New Jersey.

Love Jah Wobble. Especially is colaboration with Holger Czukay and Jaki Liebezeit.
