I tried “Thanh Da” and the Bahn Mi was okay, but honestly it seems like one of those places that unwrittenly is not for non-locals; aka white guys like me. I had a few tiny cure Chinese kids looking and pointing at me in the window when I visited. I know how animals in a zoo feel.

Maybe it’s different in the 40s and 50s street-wise since it’s slightly more gentrified and they have to adapt, but at my side the places seem cool to indifferent to non-locals of all kinds… Except for “Phos and Banhmi Inc.” which was pretty friendly and a tad more open/modern.
