	9:27pm northguineahills: Thanks James. After losing the lawsuit to Ken, he got really w/drawn and reclusive, and most of us whom were friends w/ him, rarely heard anything from outside of secondary sources.

	9:32pm coelacanth: hopefully he requested his archives to be removed, to cut ties- rather than by a childish decision by someone else.
	9:35pm northguineahills: @Ike: after losing an eye during a WFMU 4th of July party, two years later, he had to sue Ken to try to get money for surgery to restore his sight. He didn't want to, but he had no insurance. He was in the middle of a lake, rowing, and a m80 fell over and through the worrst luck ever, hit him in his right eye, knocked him out of the boat, and he had to swim to shore w/ his face burning. (for those that don't know the story.). When I looked for my set last in 2007ish, it was in the archive. (don't ban me!!) Since I haven't talked to him in over 5 years, I have no idea if he requested his archive removed or not.
	9:35pm coelacanth: yes,Doug- probably. i know someone else who left on not-so-good-terms, who's archives are still up.
	9:38pm Doug Schulkind: @coelacanth It's just not the station's style to excommunicate. There are plenty of archives up from DJs with whom there was some conflict. Had he been on since WFMU went online, I guarantee you The Hound would be in the archives.
	9:39pm Īke: Good point @Coel, even the infamous Weev's 2 archives are still up. @NGH, I knew about some of that -- I was at a fundraiser for OCDJ's eye surgery -- but I didn't know the whole story or that it took place at THAT lake.
	9:42pm coelacanth: yeah,i wouldn't think so. ...i didn't know The Hound left on bad terms!
	9:42pm northguineahills: I was at that fund raiser too!, and Dan introduced me Bjork and Matmos. I had been in email contact w/ Drew Daniels since meeting him at a punk club in Tampa a few years back, where they played. so it was fun to have a beer w/ him.
	9:43pm northguineahills: Oh, and Vicky kicked ass that night, as per usual.
	9:43pm Ĩkє: In fact, the Hound is in the archives, sort of -- on the FMU archives page, it links to an outside site, thehound.net -- I guess he kept his own recordings and put them up himself? That show isn't my bag at all, and the Hound seemed like a bit of a dingus in the FMU documentary movie, yet the mic breaks were often very funny and extremely well-done -- the man had style.
	9:48pm Doug Schulkind: The Hound was a helluva radio performer. And is a significantly knowledgable historian and a fantastic writer. (He hasn't posted to his blog in a while, but it is well worth a fine scouring: thehoundblog.blogspot.com ) Very talented fellow. Also a first-rank contrarian and provocateur.
	9:48pm coelacanth: hmm,i'm not familiar with "Weev". i'm intrigued! a particular dj had a 3-hour on-air melt-down that resulted in a hiatus; that one show is not up,and i always figured it was the dj's choice. (i happen to have a cassette tape of most of it!- don't tell!)
	9:51pm northguineahills: I'm also friends w/ small change, and he had an incident when his guests had the FCC have fmu fined, but he still dj's, and holds no grudges.
	9:52pm hyde: this is some great fmu backstory stuff that i've never been exposed to ;)

	9:53pm Īke: @Coel, I believe I know what you're referring to. That incident was extremely strange. It was a window into something I couldn't begin to comprehend. It even spilled over into the following program. Fortunately said DJ never seemed to have any similar issues again.

	9:54pm northguineahills: (he was suspended for two years, and it was quite the fine for just random profanity).
	9:57pm Ĩkє: Between fines for random profanity and the KBOO incident and their total failure to shut down loads and loads of pirates interfering w/FMU and other little stations, the FCC is none too impressive.

	9:27pm northguineahills: Thanks James. After losing the lawsuit to Ken, he got really w/drawn and reclusive, and most of us whom were friends w/ him, rarely heard anything from outside of secondary sources.

	9:35pm northguineahills: @Ike: after losing an eye during a WFMU 4th of July party, two years later, he had to sue Ken to try to get money for surgery to restore his sight. He didn't want to, but he had no insurance. He was in the middle of a lake, rowing, and a m80 fell over and through the worrst luck ever, hit him in his right eye, knocked him out of the boat, and he had to swim to shore w/ his face burning. (for those that don't know the story.). When I looked for my set last in 2007ish, it was in the archive. (don't ban me!!) Since I haven't talked to him in over 5 years, I have no idea if he requested his archive removed or not.

That show isn't my bag at all, and the Hound seemed like a bit of a dingus in the FMU documentary movie, yet the mic breaks were often very funny and extremely well-done -- the man had style.

	9:48pm coelacanth: hmm,i'm not familiar with "Weev". i'm intrigued! a particular dj had a 3-hour on-air melt-down that resulted in a hiatus; that one show is not up,and i always figured it was the dj's choice. (i happen to have a cassette tape of most of it!- don't tell!)
