I'm kinda mystified about why, when FMU DJs play Hawkwind, they always play the mellower cuts, instead of the hardcore cuts. What's up with that?
Avatar 3:08am
AdamFromOldeKenzo:

It worked as a good segue from Relatively Clean Rivers to Wolf Eyes!

Eiderdown:

Good morning all
Avatar 3:09am
Jeff Conklin:

Simon, because mellow Hawkwind is the best Hawkwind. And thanks, Adam, I think it worked nicely too ;)
Avatar 3:10am
Jeff Conklin:

I think Eiderdown only checks in after he sends me new jams on his label....;)
Avatar 3:10am
Eiderdown:

Damnit
Avatar 3:11am
Eiderdown:

Ha, I was hoping it wouldn't come off like that. I just happen to be staying up late, getting these new tapes ready...and only an Avant Ghetto soundtrack will do
Avatar 3:12am
Eiderdown:

But you do take bitcoin as payola, right???
Avatar 3:12am
Jeff Conklin:

You know Im kidding, Adam...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13am
pacific standard simon:

We will have to agree to disagree. For me, I could segue from "Master Of The Universe" to The Ramones' "Havana Affair" with no difficulty.
Avatar 3:14am
Eiderdown:

Btw, this Wolf Eyes is amazing...it almost sounds like Hawkwind!!

Is this still not heavy enough for you Simon? ha ha.
Avatar 3:20am

This is some super sick shredding.
Avatar 3:20am

It would be a happier place if the app stopped buffering.

It's harshing my buzz.
Avatar 3:25am

I've had that issue before too Bentangle...it's a bummer vibe

Got a track to address the issue coming up next...

If I had a band I'd name my album DreamSnake II. Heck, i'd probably name my child DreamSnake II if I could.

PSS and JeffConklin: You two have to get along because a Hawkwind debate in 2015 could only happen here and with us… Or maybe at a record bin in some store… But still… This place!

ps -i thought when the person expressed the desire to "hear" from you more frequently,he meant on the comment board. maybe i'm wrong, but you should do it however you're comfortable.
there are plenty of us that appreciate hour-long-sets - especially when the songs generally played are sprawling and there's a mood created. (...not that i'm unhappy with you speaking more often tonight! -just sayin'!)

peaceout.

I got here...better late than never.
Like coelacanth I'm on both sides of the Hawkwind fence.
Anyone who doesn't think post 70's HW is worth checking out, have a listen to the brazenly titled "LSD" of the awfully titled "Electric Teepee" (1990).
Avatar 5:26am

Thanks, Adam. Sleep well...
