Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from December 18, 2015 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

@Bryce: Seriously, no “Star Wars” spoilers. People don’t need to know what they did with Jabba the Hutt’s hide.
  1:44pm
Ike:

Well we already know the Joker shows up and gives Leia and Harley Quinn the business right there on the floor of the Millennium Falcon, so....

No but srsly GET OUTTA HERE w/that. I'll sic a Dalek on ya.

Just tell me if it was good or not. I'm going Saturday or Monday.

And we know that Mila Kunis shows up with a dead's ram head, too. Shouting to the faceless ocean.
  1:46pm
Ike:

Niiiiice!
  1:47pm
JakeGould:

@Cecile: It‘s like every J.J. Abrams movie… He gives you exactly what you want and after you see it you have more questions and then eventually take a nap, wake up and realize, “That was fun but forgettable.” It‘s better than all of the prequels, but it made me like “Return of the Jedi” more and I have always hated that film.

Also, has J.J. Abrams ever made his own movie or is he just some fanboy? I mean even Spielberg has some personality in his films that reflect him. J.J. Abrams is like Michael Bay without Mila Kunis.
Avatar 1:47pm
Bryce:

i thought gilbert gottfried was excellent. really surprised me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm
common:

ha!
  1:49pm
JakeGould:

@Bryce: I also liked the sassy black robot maid who took care of the Skywalker children. “You had better do your homework or I’ll ‘Force’ you to wash the space dishes again!”
Avatar 1:49pm
Cecile:

Return of the jedi is notable because it's Mark Hamill's best acting which we all would have lauded, except for those damn furbies. flying around.
  1:50pm
JakeGould:

@Cecile: Mark Hamiil’s best acting is in this film. Can’t spoil it but they really used him the best way possible.
  1:51pm
Ike:

I haven't seen it but based on his other films, J.J. is 100000x better than Bay just because his action scenes aren't cut to ribbons and have decent spatial intelligence or blocking or whatever it's called when you're not directing like you're super coked-up.
Avatar 1:52pm
People Like Us:

I was really surprised that Wonderwoman was in it
  1:52pm
JakeGould:

@Ike: J.J. Abrams is like the “thinking man’s” Michael Bay. He’s no Spielberg. He might actually be a coked up George Lucas if you think about it.
Avatar 1:53pm
Cecile:

excellent. He is always delightful as the Trickster in the various Flash iterations, and voicing the Joker in some Batman cartoons.
  1:53pm
Ike:

That's effectively a spoiler, you Brooklyn tart, you. Grrrr.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm
common:

i'm a fan of corvette summer.
Avatar 1:54pm
Cecile:

Is it as good as Pain and Gain? I actually thought the movie was pretty funny.
  1:54pm
Ike:

(Re: Hamill.)
  1:54pm
JakeGould:

@Cecile: I think Mark Hamill is a terrible actor. Now re-read what I said. And maybe it spoils things but still. Best use of his talents.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm
common:

never saw that one, cecile.
Avatar 1:55pm
Cecile:

come on now, Ike. We knew all the old people were going to be in there. It's nice to know that Mark didn't stink up the joint. I mean, put someone in a purple gorilla suit and have them fight Darth Maul on a tightrope over a tub of boiling oil, and expect them to act? That's a challenge we should all respect.
Avatar 1:56pm
Cecile:

it's a Michael Bay movie. It has a weird tone because he's trying to be funny, but what's funny is all the stuff that isn't trying to be funny. So it works somehow.
  1:56pm
JakeGould:

@PeopleLikeUs: Shocking when Adam Driver drunk dialed her and then they “did it” on the bridge of a Star Destroyer while Ewoks looked on.
Avatar 1:57pm
People Like Us:

yes, that really was a spoiler, that bit
Avatar 1:57pm
Cecile:

And what was up with Wonder Woman's beehive hairdo? THAT IS NOT CANON, PEOPLE.
  1:58pm
JakeGould:

I will seriously say that there was a lot of Chewbacca in this film. I bet the most serious action by Chewbacca in any film. I would see a whole movie with Chewbacca doing things like reading the newspaper, getting bag of chips from the space bodega and even paying off his space mortgage.
Avatar 1:59pm
Cecile:

wow, spacist much? Why can't you just say bodega and mortgage?
  1:59pm
JakeGould:

FWIW, a girl who was 9 or 10 a few rows in front of me at the end stood up, winced her face and said, “I wasn’t surprised by anything.” Best review ever!
Avatar 2:00pm
Cecile:

Did she also then burst into a hearty rendition of "Is that All There Is?"
Avatar 2:01pm
sphere:

I expect the next movie to be titled "The Force Is Napping After a Very Hard Day."
  2:02pm
JakeGould:

@sphere: The next one will be “Don’t Force it if You’re Constipated.”
Avatar 2:02pm

Or "The Force Sits down with a cup of espresso and their Day-Planet".

I just totally incinerated my last Pop Tart. :>(
  2:05pm

@Butch: “I just totally incinerated my last Pop Tart.” That’s Luke’s only line in the film and you spoiled it!!!!

it must be edited to fit time allotted and proportioned to fit my screen (how do they know that?) with plenty of time for commercials, or I won't have anything to do with it.
  2:42pm
Ike:

@Cecile@1:55, I didn't mean Hamill's mere presence, I meant... never mind, even beginning to explain might hint to potential spoilers. Whatever.
