@Wendy...the Don is a connoisseur of all fine things in life...which obviously include Bayley Hazen Blue, Lawsons & HillFarmstead, as well as WFMU (ie. TOPT , NatetheK, EFD, Brainen, BillKelly...& so many others). Thank you for the recommendation!
Henry Hamel of Pfizer inc while I was on a business trip to NYC took me to the Oyster Bar in Grand Central in 1983 and demonstrated the acoustics of the whispering gallery.
In his fretting hand no less!!! Amazing. He was an inspiration to Tony Iommi to keep playing after he cut off the tips of his fretting fingers in his hand. He felt inspired by him and went on to form Black Sabbath.
When I fancied myself a guitarist, I briefly debated cutting off the tips of my fingers on my fretting hand to sound like Tony Iommi. I mean, VERY briefly...
