Is it "revenge?" I never know, oscillate between "raving" and "revenge." And then sometimes decide to treat the V as a U and call it "rung." They're lovely. You guys sound real good even if you can't hear yourselves.

Here is a review of a William Parker record taken off the AUM Fidelity website:

"When will the world recognize that William Parker is a genius? No composer in jazz gets closer to the pumping heart of the music's lifeblood. No bandleader and organizer is more selfless in the service of the collective self-expression. Few instrumentalists are as versatile, or improvisors as generous. Parker has performed on more than two hundred records, and this latest, with his outrageously tight working quartet, is simply one of his best."

Some of the most narrow, most rigidly defined music programs on the radio out there are "jazz" shows. There is such genre-on-genre violence within the community of "jazz" fans. That is what makes D:O RADIO such a breath of fresh radio. All styles, all approaches, all contexts are considered and celebrated. And so intelligently and passionately provided.

THIS IS WORTH ACKNOWLEDGING AND SUPPORTING WITH A PLEDGE!
  10:58am

Everyone at WFMU understands the absurdity of the + button fiasco. The problem was that trying to "fix" the problem right before and then during the marathon was only just causing worse problems. Since all pledges have been accounted for as to WFMU in the end, the decision was made (the correct decision, I truly believe) to leave it be and fix it for the next one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14am
listener james from westwood:

If the total hits 100% by midnight, all the tsuris will have been worth it. I'm sure all the info will feed into the next version of the system, maybe sometime in ::whispers:: the fall.

The WFMU overall total is right about where it was last year, and we ended up achieving the goal about 48 hours later. So even if we are short at midnight tonight, I am confident we will successfully reach our final destination: OUT!
