'twas Pier 84, it appears, for that KC gig:

King Crimson
Live at the Pier, New York
August 2, 1982

"At the end of the summer day, the boisterous young NYC area rockers lined up to file onto Pier 84, jutting out hundreds of feet into the Hudson River. As we faced the stage, and Hell's Kitchen and Midtown Manhattan, the sun was setting behind our backs over the New Jersey Palisades. Larry Snead (interviewed by Sid Smith)"

When I was a kid, I used to emulate the Nestea plunge when falling into the pool.
  1:01pm
MONEYBAG$:

We used to do it at the pool in summer camp, which was only about 2 feet deep. Not a great idea.

Doesn't Marge bring him tuna sandwiches b/c tuna has dolphin in it and they're smart?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm

That to me is a Swartzwelder touch.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm
listener james from westwood:

I'd like to believe that ANGRILY SHITTING was the closed caption on the DVD for that scene.
Avatar 1:36pm
steve:

i found myself describing to a student a chair i'd seen with extra legs on hinges on the back legs, that catch you if you start to fall backwards. and he immediately pointed out it wasn't a real invention but something from the Simpsons. probably not the only time that's happened.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm
Amanda:

I mean... it had to be. YES, I love the dolphin line! I kind of think the makeup gun and all the other bad inventions are kind of Swartzweldian too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
Amanda:

@steve I hope he dismissively said "Simpsons did it."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
listener james from westwood:

Ha ha, Tesla, good call.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm
listener james from westwood:

Tesla's ghost prob. would've shown up had Lisa hallucinated Edison, likely by engaging Tom in a duel. Or zapping him with a Tesla weapon.
