	11:50am Cliff in Prague: Prague is one of the few European cities that did not get leveled in WWII, so there's still lots of beautiful old architecture to see here.
	11:53am P-90: @Brian: Heavy Metal, the movie, is not as good as it could/should have been, it originated as an ambitious attempt to animate some of the stories from the original French Science Fiction comics anthology magazine, which was then being published in a translated edition by the National Lampoon company. They produced the movie in the wake of the huge success of their "Animal House". The animation studios that were available to do the work at the time were nowhere near as sophisticated as nowadays. So adjust your expectations accordingly. Also: the movie does include the immortal Don Felder track, and some other decent musical bits.

	11:58am Goatpuncher: But then you could say the same thing about, say, Predator, and I like that, so I guess I'm a hypocrite. IDK, something about dumb 80s action movies seems more honest. Hiding it behind animation... it seems even sleazier somehow yet more pretentious. Does that make a lick of sense? Probably not.
	11:58am coelacanth: the soundtrack to that movie is more abominable than not, as well. (as is evident at least once/week!) that's a big deterrent for me.
	11:59am Cecile: It wasn't as good as the comics. There's a wonderful Berni Wrightson story whose ending gets changed to leave a bad taste in your mouth. I was a very regular reader of the comics and was quite disappointed.

	11:53am P-90: @Brian: Heavy Metal, the movie, is not as good as it could/should have been, it originated as an ambitious attempt to animate some of the stories from the original French Science Fiction comics anthology magazine, which was then being published in a translated edition by the National Lampoon company. They produced the movie in the wake of the huge success of their "Animal House". The animation studios that were available to do the work at the time were nowhere near as sophisticated as nowadays. So adjust your expectations accordingly. Also: the movie does include the immortal Don Felder track, and some other decent musical bits.

Hiding it behind animation... it seems even sleazier somehow yet more pretentious. Does that make a lick of sense? Probably not.
	11:58am coelacanth: the soundtrack to that movie is more abominable than not, as well. (as is evident at least once/week!) that's a big deterrent for me.
	11:59am Cecile: It wasn't as good as the comics. There's a wonderful Berni Wrightson story whose ending gets changed to leave a bad taste in your mouth. I was a very regular reader of the comics and was quite disappointed.
