Yup, the Caribbean pirates that cram the FM dial out of Flatbush, Brooklyn (and cause terrible interference to lots of other stations like FMU) often play cheesy soft rock from the 80s! With added air horns and singing along, of course.

Interesting... I live in Flatbush and I don't hear soft rock like, ever. haha It really is the fab reggae 24/7. Added air horns LOLOLOL

Avatar 1:48pm

@ Kat LMAO
Avatar 1:49pm
Goatpuncher:

@Mel, do you get a lot of interference to FMU (91.1) from a Haitian pirate on nights & weekends? I bet 95% of Flatbush FMU fans have to listen online now. @rbxbx, it's a pain in the ass actually, unless you want to give up reception of all real licensed FM stations forever!
Avatar 1:51pm
rbxbx:

Goatpuncher: I usually have to listen online anyway :[
That said, I am generally a big fan of interference --- but that was before I had quality programming like FMU being interfered with ;)
Avatar 1:51pm
Friends call me Mel:

@ Goatpuncher- You know I don't have an amazing amp so I do cheat and stream. I tried WNYU once thru airwaves and got some crazy sh*t.
Avatar 1:53pm
rbxbx:

@Mel Yeah, WNYU has a bit more luck making it out here (Bushwick) --- still a ton of interference though. And very temperamental!
Avatar 1:55pm
Goatpuncher:

WNYU has a crummy transmitter anyway, but FMU would cover southern Brooklyn no problem if it weren't for the slime-weasels at the illegal 90.9 "Radyo Independans".
  1:55pm
Cecile:

When are you gonna interview Devin Dare?
Avatar 1:56pm

cecile: Devin's not that interesting..:)
  1:58pm

He's also too modest.
Avatar 1:59pm

The hood can make me smile. The guy who sells reggae records on Flatbush and whatever was blasting Billie Holiday once. It was totally random and refreshing to hear from the norm pheeeeew pheeeew pheeeww
Avatar 2:05pm
TDK60:

Seems like the non-political pirates have no etiquette. I think radical pirates usually avoid other stations unless they intend to interrupt. Don't know much @.

this track is great for swimming. Like crazy fish coming out of the depths. Swimming is so damn boring.
Avatar 2:19pm
Goatpuncher:

@TDK60, I've *never* heard any "radical" or left-wing pirates in English in the NYC metro area. Is that a thing somewhere? Haitian pirates are (I presume) talking Haitian politics all the time (often with calls via Skype full of headache-inducing digital artifacts & echo), but not knowing Haitian Creole, I can't tell if they're radical, but they're definitely interfering.

well volleyball is still playing here, though this is a very swimmer track
