According to The Stranglers FB page, it was 26 years ago today that Hugh Cornwell split from the band, after a 16 year stint...where does the time go?

not to slam the rest of the Stranglers, but I don't know how they could possibly do it without Hugh. Was stunned to see it's been 26 years.

I don't remember experiencing punk as an "invasion" at the time. It felt to me like a flourishing. I recall attending shows in LA at the time thinking, "Wow, this is such a wild, creative, welcoming community of fun, smart, entertaining, cocky kids and young adults." I realize it meant something different to those in NY and the UK, as noted in the show. But "invasion" seems an overstatement, a media con.

Everything I know about heroin I learned at the group house I lived in, mid 1980s; I was the one abstainer in a house full of users. "Parties" were................ eerie.
Avatar 1:27pm
Cecile:

that was a complete lie. It was a fight between who was going to run the band - Glenn or John.
