This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

One should always have something tucked away for times like these. And other times, unlike these. Overholt will do though

And Burning Spear? I bought those records sometime after that at Strawberries (anyone remeber Strawberries? that was a fairly cool chain record store!). Winston Rodney's voice is just so amazing, it's irresistable. The other record i bought then (also at Strawberries!) that remains with me to this day is Culture's Two Sevens Clash. That's another record I'd shoot to the stars for aliens to find so they'd know about what human beings are all about.
coelacanth:
that same friend turned me on to them with "international herb", which is still my favorite.

...i, myself change residents by september, and i very much doubt that the contents of my present apartment will fit in my new one; however if the couple that i still don't know if they're moving in with me or not doesn't, i'll have plenty of room... just double the rent.
( -and only 1-1/2 days to use a borrowed "small suv")
