I find certain arranger personalities interesting and they're much too often in the shadow of producer's personalities.

Which is Amazing...I finally found an old Garrard Turntable that had 78 RPM on it...so I did about 2 days of transfers of all my Dad's (RIP) old 78's to DIgi...Got the 78 Stylus et.al....Been wanting to do that for YEARS..he Died in '02...It was worth the wait...Goodman.Sinatra.Hot Club of France,Coleman Hawkins...And Billie...ALWAYS BILLIE!!!!

He even would buy her a drink now and then. To transfer all his old 78's was at times quite moving...I MEAN THESE WERE MY POP'S RECORDS! WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS AND FEELS LIKE!!!!

Apologies for the audio-nerdery, but please tell me that if you're taking the trouble to record all those records, you're recording in some lossless format (FLAC or WAV or AIFF or ALAC or the like)! The worst case would be MP3, which has terrible trouble with sharp impulses (like, you know, surface noise on records).
