A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Hello Trouble.

doca, is that you?
  10:19am

Providence is where it's at! I like to eat at the Red Fez when I'm having myself a time downtown. Providence has fantastic outdoor festivals, block parties, parades, etc which makes the summer months a great time to be there. Don't go to Newport, go to Jamestown! Providence also has exceptional cemeteries, which I frequent!
  10:19am

Oh yes! I think when I first moved to Providence it was still on Angell. Ah, those were the days. The Buddy days. I went to college there. Lots of good memories.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am
Sem Chumbo:

@doca: All is good here, settling into Fall. You enjoying the Spring there?
Avatar 10:21am
doca:

Regarding Dylan Nobel prize, it's not that he doesn't deserve it, but it doesn't seem like Nobel prize functions to celebrate what is already celebrated. It feels like Obama's Nobel in 2010, or something like that.
Avatar 10:24am
doca:

@Sem: Yes, flowers are blossoming and trees are beautiful. And life is good, despite Brazil's deepening crisis.

@Brian: Brazil is spinning off its axis faster than the world nowadays, but maybe a little bit slower than Trump's supporters. The Olympics was one of the few good news regarding Brazil this year. I enjoyed.

Weather here is somewhat changeable. Two rainbows in half an hour,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am

@Doca: ldeciduous tree leaves are now turning brilliant colours, near frost some evenings, and of course much shorter daylight. Putting the vegetable garden to bed. Pretty soon planting next years garlic. Quieter times here, winter is coming.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am

so we have a little silent, online mostly fundraiser going on this month. we are trying out new improved software to make donating $ easier, and it is being a little temperamental right now. for example i can't see who has pledged to my show to thank you very kind souls. but it will be working correctly soon and i will give a super shout out of thanks. meanwhile if you could donate just a bit to wfmu to keep us alive in these emotionally stressful times, we would love you to bits. merci!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am
Sem Chumbo:

@doca: I think that's an insightful thought. Living as we do, most Canadians, I mean, ~halfway between the Equator and North Pole, we sort of celebrate the 4 seasons, coming and going. Pretty sharp delineations and clear times for doing this, that and the other in a given season.

Avatar 10:58am
doca:

@Sem and Lewis: Yes, I always thought the seasons cycle refresh and reinvigorate, specially as you know no season last forever. I think it would be strange to live farther North in Brazil, where there's only summer (stranger as it may be to think this wouldn't be good). In South Brazil we have a few noticeable changes, but seasons are getting all mixed up and there is less winter than it used to be twenty years ago.
