So many tributes this year and last. So sad. But we'll always have the music, and it's good to hear it.

I think that can be arranged, UM. Live or studio? (though if the live is super-long that may rule it out anyway)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27pm
Switchblade Batman:

Ooh live? Who's playing tonight?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm
Uncle Michael:

I think the Blow Your Face Out version is 10 times hotter than the studio. Not sure about the length.
Avatar 9:28pm

Sno-Cone was one of their best songs.

length is manageable!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33pm
coelacanth∅:

hi Evan; Funklettes
...so, by the look of the playlist so far, does this mean you're only going to play the really good and excellent J Giels Band?
(before they tarnished their reputation with "love stinks" etc.)
Avatar 9:33pm
Dave in SoDak:

right? weird but true.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33pm
Uncle Michael:

So, the one time I saw the JGB live was in Clay Pigeon's neck of the woods. It was at the fairgrounds in Des Moines, IA in 1975. They were second on the bill, after Pure Prairie League and before Foghat and Santana. When Wolf started doing mic stand pole vaults, I was all in.
Avatar 9:34pm
Dave in SoDak:

Filmed in Mpls.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm
efd:

coel, your observation is correct (though I still kinda like "Love Stinks")
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm
coelacanth∅:

haha! well, what established rock band didn't start "slipping", shall we say, toward the late 70s, after all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm

LOVE STINKS had some great tunes; "Night Time," "Come Back,""No Anchovies, Please"...

Growing up in NewHampshuh here, in the cultural media reach of Bawstin - J. Geils were definitely a thing. Deffo one of those bands that informed us of the R&B originals they covered - back before interwebz & everything being available all the time...& of course legendary for bringing it Live...Peter Wolf was a legendary Bawstin DJ going back even earlier, wasn't he??
