Hello all, Therese I managed to catch the beginning of your show for a change!

I always end up missing it.

Hi Therese love the sounds and atmospheres always !

How's the screenplay coming along, Batman?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Heyo, Therese. I hope Dave the Spazz left you the keys to the banana cabinet and some instructions for caring for chimps.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm
Uncle Michael:

Therese, maybe you have the answer to a question that's eluded all my research efforts. Here Ty is covering a Bob Seger song (incidentally, probably the first anti-vietnam song released on a major label). I think "2+2" is a reference to something specific, perhaps related to draft status. Do you know?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm
Switchblade Batman:

Hey @OD. I submitted one to copyright so more or less done. Unless the feedback I get is awful. And I picked up the other one I was working on. SO not bad considering.

Hows it with you?

Mazel tov on getting a prime time slot on Thursdays 9 to midnight. Dave is on vacation but what bout his monkeys?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm

hello Therese and others
...i'm okay with hearing this song at least once/week, forever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm
Tome:

bit.ly... yea !!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm
Switchblade Batman:

Yes, totally looking forward to the thurs show. @Therese, congrats.

Therese:

Hi Uncle Michael- I think Bob Seger sings, "2 + 2 is FIVE" at one point, so my take was that he was being asked to believe something was just not true. But I could be wrong...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm
Uncle Michael:

Ooh, that's interesting. I will have to re-listen to Bob. Thank you.
Avatar 10:16pm
Therese:

I am both nervous and excited to step into the Thursday night slot. Hopefully, Dave won't leave the monkeys behind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
Switchblade Batman:

I was hoping he would though, every thing is better with monkeys. Your show is great, but it would be GREAT with monkeys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm
Tome:

you're gonna fit perfectly in that slot should I say your tunes and free form music is absolutely incredible Therese

Maybe the monkeys can visit sometimes...

This Moon Duo track seems like such a song of triumph and victory. You'd want to play this in your head when you need confidence and fortitude.

Batman, you should consider registering screenplays with the Writers Guild East, that offers you industry protection www.wgaeast.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm
Switchblade Batman:

If not, that would be a great crossover for the next fundraiser Therese
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm
Uncle Michael:

If you turn on Matt's lava lamps, the chimps will flee. Don't ask me how I know this.
Avatar 10:23pm
Old Dave:

Batman- well enough.
I bought a shitload of candy at Walmart.
The horses and wagon I usually run through our local Civic Assoc parade are primed and ready.
It's a big deal for my employer. His horses. Last year the parade was cancelled for rain.
Walmart took the candy back, and it looks like they may have to do so again...
wet weather is a stupid excuse to not honor dead vets IF that was the point in
the first place.

Therese! Always fantastic company--I thank you!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm
melinda:

@UM haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm
Switchblade Batman:

Yeah, thanks @Fleep. I know of it. I don't see the advantage of it over copyright though. If it does get stolen, I would have more recourse with a copyright.

But if I'm lucky enough to even get it sold I think I have to register it anyway.

KP:

Best to you in new slot, Therese!
Avatar 10:27pm
Old Dave:

This is the best, Therese. Thanks!
  10:27pm
JakeGould:

“Love Vigilantes” is great. Makes me think there should be a playlist devoted to songs about the dead not realizing they are dead when they come back home. Like Queen’s “39” and a few others.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm
Switchblade Batman:

It doesn't sound it @OD. What are the horses for?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm
melinda:

I love that song too.

@Batman- draft horses are the kind that plow and pull stuff. They are also a way for very rich people to show off and expense things like that (and big yachts, for example,) to their various LLCs.
I know and love these particular horses! We got the first team as 2 year olds and now they are 18.
BTW Donald Trump lead the way, as he has over 40 LLCs, all non-reporting, as all shell game foolery is and always will be!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm
Uncle Michael:

Oh, Glen...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm
Switchblade Batman:

@OD yup, and yet I could only write off a fraction of what I pay in student loans in my taxes and get jack back.

Rigged game.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm

This is gooden @Therese

Indeed, Batman. But it gets worse when you approach 60, have yer ID stolen and joints fail.
Enjoy it while you may, friend!

good evening, Therese & everyone!
thank you so much for that (now old!) Mekons song!
EXQUISITE! one of their best songs, imho - love that whole album, right down to the cover artwork
gets me thinking of happier times -CHALLENGING times, but happier nevertheless
Avatar 11:11pm
Old Dave:

Thanks, man. It is a whole process of submitting forms that takes many, many hours. IRS, State, Dept
of Commerce (did you know they handle Social Security fraud?) ... and endless credit card apps, loan apps, and even a student loan somewhere.
Have any FMU listeners ever been in this hell? My local police say its the new normal and I think a real estate transaction triggered the whole mess. Realtors are soooo professional, right?

Message being: don't give anyone access to anything, or you will be sorry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm
Switchblade Batman:

Fingers crossed for you man. Hopefully some how it'll get smoothed over.
  11:20pm
Carmichael:

As a preemptive strike, people should sign up for an ID monitoring service. I use Lifelock, but there are other options out there. My teenage daughter had some ID Issues that came to our attention when AARP sent her a registration card. Thief apprehended, but that's scary for a high school kid. The internet is definitely your enemy.
Avatar 11:22pm
Old Dave:

This might make a good screenplay, Batman!
Lots of off-kilter shock and thrills over here, as observed by
a worshiper of WFMU.
Thanks Carm, you are exactly correct!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm
Switchblade Batman:

I dunno about lifelock though... www.wired.com...

I mostly write about time machines, and more fantastical stuff like vampires though @OD
Avatar 11:27pm

Anyway, by Ken's standards I am a troll for mentioning any personal shit.
Sorry and good night! Love this show Therese!

Sorry @Carmichael

That article is 7 years old. Hopefully, that idiot has learned something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm
Switchblade Batman:

yeah but there's still more shadiness from that place that's a bit more recent. FEC rulings, etc.
Avatar 11:41pm
Old Dave:

Gads! Can't sleep.
The fact that you have to give credit monitoring services info
on behalf of the IRS in order to get relief says a whole lot about the
mess we are in!
  11:42pm
JakeGould:

“I think a real estate transaction triggered the whole mess.” Don’t want to dwell on this topic too much, but the fact that modern real estate transactions include sharing scans of personal documents coupled with the fact that even the most professional real estate agencies don’t really have solid privacy policies add up to crap like this happening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm
