Westwood for the first time ever hung a Pride flag from town hall. I was agog and enchanted.

Did I fake you out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am
Uncle Michael:

I came in mid-speech, so I don't have enough information to be faked out...just askeered.

Hi, Amanda and Amandanites! Pride dog there looks a lot like my college friend Darren's dog, Milton (except for the coloration). Darren sent in fake job & credit card applications under the name Milton T. Dog.

Erasure! (But not bi-erasure.)

In high school we had a cat named Sparky who I seem to remember we signed up for something as Spar K.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am
Uncle Michael:

"These" being Pride shows or Nazario Scenarios?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am
Amanda:

Pride shows.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am
Amanda:

I approve of "Sparky" as a cat name, not just because it was Charles Schultz's nickname
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am
Uncle Michael:

Whew. Though, please don't give those up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52am
listener james from westwood:

Mmmmmm ... Garbage.

“Spark E” would be a good cat name to get a credit card with.

Such a wonderful show. You, Amanda, are among the best!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am
listener james from westwood:

My immediate post-college radio diet (1991-on) was DRE, FMU, and this obscure little all-pop-metal AM station that was rebroadcast in our area from somewhere in Texas. So in the average day I'd get "Forever Young," a Pavement track, and "Rainbow in the Dark."
Avatar 10:32am
@sugarwolf@:

aww, Frog and Toad
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am
Amanda:

Why thank you, @Stevel! I'm chuffed by that.

I am here for all chip tunes and 80s dance rock.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am
listener james from westwood:

In re: disco and dance records: Just thinking about a recent-ish interview with Grace Jones in which she reflected on how her fan base from the late 70s and early 80s basically died. Not to be overlooked this month.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am
Amanda:

Dammit, I was going to bring a Grace Jones LP today and I forgot. And yes, extremely important not to forget the fight against AIDS in this brave new world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am
Amanda:

Plug for this comp, Strong Love, which I end up playing each year at this time. A great variety of underground, under-heard tracks by/for/about queer people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am
listener james from westwood:

The cover of this collection is amazing.

Also: For volume 2, they should include Lavender Jane's "Every Woman Can Be a Lesbian"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am
listener james from westwood:

For the record, any time I hear that sort of doorbell, I quote Waters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am
listener james from westwood:

Waters was signing at Chiller Theatre in, like, 2000, and when I handed him Shock Value to sign, I said, "I loved you on The Simpsons." He graciously thanked me. Classic.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am

Oh, that fade from the floor to the office tower is amazing, esp. for the tools they had.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am

I appreciate Simpsons Time for reminding folks both how gorgeous how early Simpsons eps could be, and how much they did with things like dire schedules, limited color palettes, etc.

@steve, I'd say it's a perfect example of the early "sweet and funny" Simpsons.
