	12:19pm tmoyo: Hi Mayuko and listeners! I opened the WFMU homepage to listen to your show, but got sidetracked by the top video. Clay Pigeon and SM Ken on Japanese television NHK!!! クロ現!! WTF... I wished I had stumbled upon the program in real time.
	12:25pm Mayuko: Haha! Yeah, I was like WTF too when I heard that NHK was gonna come to the station. Haven't watched the video yet. I should check how they represented us, either as a great radio station consist of geniuses, or a bunch of weirdos forming up a dysfunctional radio family.

WFMU was represented as somebody's go-to station to avoid political news...(while showing Clay reading the morning news, which was kinda odd and a little misleading when you think about what he's done in his old show). BTW, what's the name of the science program?

That's kind of funny, I think I just heard Michael Shelley talking about Vietnam war and other political thing in the library, haha. Though I couldn't catch all the details since I was on the way out of the library.

	12:50pm Mayuko: @tmoyo It's a radio show for children to call in to ask a group of scientists some questions they have about the world, space, animals, insects, nature, everything. It sometimes even get philosophical, and sometimes there are questions scientists struggle to answer. Makes me realize how little I know the wonder of this world we're living in! I wish it was in English and everyone could listen too. Maybe something similar thing must exist in the US too.

	1:45pm Mayuko: I"m still thinking it's a bit bummer that it was kind of overlooked how political actually it is to have a freeform/non-sponsored radio station. It IS political to have this entity that lets peoples voices heard freely. This is something Japanese people can totally do too and is a great way to be empowered - I knew so, so, so many obsessed music lovers, extremely knowledgeable, who actually have strong opinions there who can totally make an amazing freeform radio station.

	2:01pm paul b: Doug Thats the way I've always thought of WFMU too. Some of this stems from my time at U. Maryland's station WMUC where our mere existence as a free form punk rock station just seemed to antagonize a startingly large amount of people. Coming from 4 yrs in the Navy it suddenly seemed these sorts of fights were the fights worth having. I add that Jeff Krulick (Heavy Metal parking lot) was the person who brought me into that fight, Along with Steve Kiviat who really ought to be doing a show on the Drummer stream.
