Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from September 19, 2017 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

As someone who worshipped Jim Morrison as much as he did, maybe he's exploring the Guam/George Stephen Morrison connection thing... it's anyone's guess really.

Funny how much witchy/devil stuff that was considered trivial or harmless prior to the mid 70s would get condemned as part of the Worldwide Satanic CON-spiracy™ now.

@Adam- We'll get through this. Just tough to lose him so suddenly like that. Going to miss bonding with him on trashy horror films, depression and our love for the Butthole Surfers and other cool stuff like that...

we bonded over drag queens, Steely Dan and Satyricon, but I know what you mean, Rory.

@Cecile- Black Metal for sure! He got me into so much obscure bm and I thought I knew alot of bm bands. Dude was a genius!

Intriguing title for this piece. Would be cool to see it live.
  5:31pm
Adam from Vancouver:

I agree, Rory! To have this community cannot be measured. Wm.'s show was definitely a bright spot for me every week!! You're so correct, I sometimes think I know about noise and black metal music, but that guy had his fingers dug so much more deeply into both than myself. I get a bit choked up every time I think about his lost future voice.
Avatar 5:32pm
Cecile:

Me, too, Adam.
But his last show was kind of cool. It's like he knew tomorrow wasn't necessarily his to have and he was all right with it.

Matmos will get a knighthood in the Interdimensional Backwards-Church of Eki-ikE for smashing Bread records. Or a loaf of fresh-baked bread.
Avatar 5:38pm

Bread kind of creep me out. So I didn't have much problem with them smashing them.
  5:40pm

Yes thank you for mentioning that Cecile I really got that sense as well. To go to the heavily used cliché it's likely very very much more difficult on us than it was for him
