	9:24pm geezerette: Nicholas Ray, right? I've always wanted to see it too. Hope it's in Criterion. We only have Filmstruck now. Mercedes was really frightening in Touch of Evil! Love her!
	9:24pm Flash Strap: I have not seen most of those, I'm embarrassed to admit! Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid I have seen a dozen times though, definitely my #1 Peckinpah

	9:29pm Flash Strap: I think G,B,Ugly and Once Upon A Time are both better but Few Dollars More is the one that haunts me like a fever Django is pretty high on my list, and maybe Navajo Joe, but I need to see that one again to make sure it's not just the soundtrack giving me fond memories... one of Morricone's coolest soundtracks

	9:37pm Flash Strap: @UM: yeah, right in there in the post-Peckinpah New Hollywood period with Butch Cassidy where every movie was really about how the western didn't work as a genre anymore because of Vietnam and the American Indian Movement. I quite like Little Big Man, I think it's pretty brilliant
	9:39pm Uncle Michael: Pat Garrett and McCabe would also be post-westerns. The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing, Judge Roy Bean...
	9:39pm Flash Strap: none of them have real memorable soundtracks though, except McCabe and Pat Garrett
	9:39pm hyde: @UM i think many of the westerns made in the 70's are sort of post-westerns. Pat Garrett, Ulzana's Raid, The Shootist, Hired Hand, Hannie Caulder, The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid etc. They are all wrestling with the form in the age of Vietnam
	9:40pm Flash Strap: haha look at that sych-up, UM Judge Roy Bean! That's a weird one, never knew what to think of it
	9:40pm hyde: except The Shootist, which is mostly wrestling with the western and the death of Old Hollywood

	9:43pm geezerette: There's an incredible Mexican film starring Dolores Del Rio and Jack Palance, set in a small Mexican village. It's in Spanish, which Palance spoke fluently. Wow, this music almos sounds Oaxacan!
	9:43pm Uncle Michael: You can't really deal wit classic western without Peck in the Gunfighter, because the whole trope in cinema begins there.
	9:43pm Flash Strap: He is so awesome! in my opinion, he's one of the most important and rightly cherished artists of this brief period of human history where music is able to be recorded

I quite like Little Big Man, I think it's pretty brilliant
