Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from October 27, 2017 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

that's a wonderful quote. i miss living in paris for all those juxtapositions, though the current market is a shopping mall.

Didn't know about that tower, but it's on the list for next visit.

Hey, really enjoying By Way of Odessa
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm

cool beans, chris; yeah, witts, when I was reading that wikipedia article I was thinking, "everything about Paris is just incredibly interesting, isn't it?"

Crawling beneath the strange blankets. It's a little dark in here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
coelacanth∅:

i don't know why i notice these things, (maybe just because i 'm always in awe of beautiful architecture, and examine it...?) but i think it's interesting that there's little uniformity in the brickwork of that tower; as if they had the final proportions in mind and just started building it. one crew here, one crew there - and made the necessary adjustments when they got up to certain features.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm
coelacanth∅:

(the lowest 2 sections are uniform....not that i'm assuming anyone else cares!)
Avatar 1:20pm
βrian:

So how did the Tour Saint-Jacques sound, anyway?
  1:21pm
wittsend:

we used to have a house in st tropez and lived a quiet village life but paris just wraps it all up to the phantasmagoric degree. it was fascinating for me to see how a building from hundreds of years ago could blend so seamlessly into the modern one next to it-- the modern accommodates the old, which i prefer. they make an effort to preserve the architectural aesthetics which are clearly at odds with the new york patchwork -- at least that was my impression.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
coelacanth∅:

there are some seriously ugly cities on this planet, nyc being one. it's hard for me to fully appreciate a beautiful structure like the chrysler building (or whatever it's called now) or st.patrick's cathedral with hideous frames around them.

Fridays are cool because the music back here is weird, but the guys in the shop are all from Peru with their own music that just gets louder and louder as the weekend approaches. They're dancing with hammers and singing over each other,as I'm back here with the Bryce on. Watching paint dry.
Avatar 1:42pm
Bryce:

i hope it's water-based!
  1:43pm
wittsend:

@coelacanthO, im exaggerating but the structure (st pats) has Club Fitch (with it's half naked caryatids flanking the entrance) on one end and the national debt clock on the other. money money money and sanctity in precious little.
Avatar 1:45pm
Chris from DC:

You can just play this on endless loop, thanks.
Avatar 1:45pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

[looks up 'caryatid'] .. ah that makes more sense. I was envisioning an architectural feature of half-naked locust-like creatures...
