	9:10pm still b/p: Were you here for the ice storm of '98, Melinda? Local media will be playing up the anniversary just ahead. I only lost power for a few hours on one day back then. I stay lucky with the juice in this neighborhood for some reason.

	9:12pm Gary: Are you guys getting hit with this thing as well? I'm guessing the whole east coast
	9:15pm melinda: I wasn't here then. I did lose power for 5 days in October though, which now makes me more nervous about losing it again. Had a brief outage on New Year's Day. Also keeping a close eye on my oil tank gauge, getting very low and the storm might delay the delivery I'm supposed to get tomorrow. I mostly like winter but boy it can suck at times.
	9:17pm Ike: Cool sounds. It's HOT in my apt. right now. I even opened a window. Still burning up.

I procrastinated on oil order until the NY holiday was almost upon us and thought the delay would be stretched, but found a company that took care of me. A friend of mine told me she's been putting diesel from the gas station in her oil tank a 5 gal. jug at a time while waiting for a delivery.

	9:35pm Ike: Local forecast from weather.gov: "Windy, w/a northwest wind 21 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph." Total snow 4-9 inches.
	9:35pm coelacanth∅: trees may not uproot as easily but like everything else they're more brittle the colder they get.
	9:37pm still b/p: Crazy wind and snow weight don't favor the trees. And big branches snap and drop even if mother ship stays up.

	9:44pm Ryan: South of us about 50 miles posted the coldest temp in the WORLD at -45F. Needless to say I had to look for my winter coat.
	9:44pm coelacanth∅: monday am my usual oil company said friday was the soonest. i would've probably run out today, so i called my landlord to see if he had a 5 gallon gas can on the premises and he said he'd call me right back. he called and said my delivery will come this morning. the guy showed up last night and i even got a better price then my usual company gave me.
	9:46pm Ryan: Would love to share some again in the near future. We are talking about heading there sometime this year with Sophie for her 16th B-day. Kelley is doing the planning but I know it has been talked about!

	9:10pm still b/p: Were you here for the ice storm of '98, Melinda? Local media will be playing up the anniversary just ahead. I only lost power for a few hours on one day back then. I stay lucky with the juice in this neighborhood for some reason.

	9:15pm melinda: I wasn't here then. I did lose power for 5 days in October though, which now makes me more nervous about losing it again. Had a brief outage on New Year's Day. Also keeping a close eye on my oil tank gauge, getting very low and the storm might delay the delivery I'm supposed to get tomorrow. I mostly like winter but boy it can suck at times.

I procrastinated on oil order until the NY holiday was almost upon us and thought the delay would be stretched, but found a company that took care of me. A friend of mine told me she's been putting diesel from the gas station in her oil tank a 5 gal. jug at a time while waiting for a delivery.
