	3:39pm northguineahills: Sardinian vocal music sounds a lot like Occitanian vocal music (which is nearly extinct), and it's just a skip across a wee bit of the Med from Sardinia.

	3:42pm Sem: ...best known for the tenore polyphonic throat singing, sacred chants called gosos, the launeddas, an ancient instrument that consists of a set of three single-reed pipes, all three mouth-blown simultaneously using circular breathing, with two chanters and one drone...via wikithingy.

	3:44pm Stanley: ngh - I'm happy o say that Occitan singing is alive and well in Bearn (SW France) where my parents live. A lot of the old boys still know the tunes and often have impromtu singalongs at parties.
