Hi Trouble, Loving the tribute to Muriel Spark! I only started reading her 2 years ago! Shame on me...I began with A Far Cry From Kensington which I just loved so much! I'm now six books into her oeuvre. There has been a recent spate of programmes about her on BBC Radio 4 recently which have been wonderful.I don't know if you can listen to them online? Anyway, great work as ever Trouble! Best wishes x

But presently I'm reading Sir Walter Scott's "Waverly"--a far cry from Brookner, Spark, and Gallant--with Virginia Woolf's "The Waves" on deck. No, I'm not reading in alphabetical order by title.

The B train never went to Bay Ridge. When the B was what was now the D it still only went as deep as 36th Street before veering to Coney Island. And the B train nowadays just goes over the Brighton Beach line.

Bay Ridge is only one train R… Also known as the “R”arely. The “N” train can get you close as an express but it’s nickname is the “N”ever.
