	3:19am Scraps: Well, I’m from Seattle, and am now living in the distant burbs, and if you can’t live with rain in Seattle, especially in winter/spring, you get out. It’s been almost constantly rain, light rain mostly (being Seattle), but still rain, for six weeks.

	3:50am markr: According to her website, it looks like she's playing a lot of East Coast Shows this month and into March, then going to the UK for a couple weeks. Her new album's release date is February 23rd.

	5:13am Scraps: This Antibalas song is on one of my probably-permanent mp3 players (so far three, probably more)
	5:19am pacific standard simon: I have to say, I think that the people who encouraged Janis Joplin to leave Big Brother are the people who helped kill her. I think that that band was wonderful, and should have kept improving with her media muscle behind them. She had her faults too. Could have been an awesome symbiosis.
	5:22am markr: They could be very unprofessional--showing up too drunk or stoned to play. "Cheap Thrills" took six months to record when it should have taken six weeks. BUT when they were on, they came to play, and they delivered EVERYTHING they had. I think the main thing that Janis lost when she left Big Brother was a bunch of friends. She died of loneliness more than anything.

	5:34am pacific standard simon: I keep on watching old Ed Sullivan re-runs on the Decades cable TV channel, looking for pop groups performing live. It's pretty random. The Animals appear quite frequently, so they appear to be promiscuous with their copyrights.
	5:41am pacific standard simon: Cheap Thrills, tho, was one of the most fantastic albums ever. One of the first I ever owned. If you don't like even a little bit of it, you are dead to me.
