Heya Mary and future listeners.

David Garland-the old WNYC radio host? (I know he is a composer/performer as well; used to love his Spinning On Air show)
Hi all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm
doctorjazz:

Lovely piece!
Avatar 12:12pm
Mary Wing:

Howdy Carmichael and doctorjazz! Yes, this is most excellent; the words are by Yoko Ono.

Hi, Mary. If you're looking for some air time, the 7SD slot might be available tonight. I gave Ken that suggestion this morning.
Avatar 12:24pm
Mary Wing:

Oh really, Ken? What's the story about that?
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Andy Breckmanman is out of town and unable to Skype in. Ken was looking for suggestions on what to air. He was asking Aaron from Mpls to send him an hour show if he has one.
Avatar 12:28pm
Mary Wing:

Not sure I could handle an hour of Aaron, heh. ken's not looking for a music show though, is he? He likes the chatter at that hour.

You could play songs backwards and have callers guess the song.
Avatar 12:38pm
Mary Wing:

Heh! I'd love that, actually.

Hey there, maestroso!
  1:01pm
Ike:

Capital idea! Sounds a little easy, though. Maybe backwards AND sped up or slowed down AND just an excerpt. I think SSD did ultra-brief excerpts as a call-in guessing topic once, but this would be a new variant.
  1:08pm
Ike:

As I've said before, I'm surprised Fabio hasn't done one of those yet....
Avatar 1:16pm
Mary Wing:

Hi Ike! Well, it would take a lot of work to prepare the sound bites, for starters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm
doctorjazz:

Hard to make much of same chord progressions-my daughter's guitar teacher told her she needed 4 chords, and could play 95% of what's out there...and he was right.
the versus of Don't Stop Believing are the same chords as this, I believe...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
doctorjazz:

And yes, it is the same chord progression (I-V- IIm-IV, sounds like)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
doctorjazz:

(the chorus is different on the Green Day)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm
doctorjazz:

All Time Low likes these chords as well (a fave of my teen daughter, along with Green Day)
Avatar 1:24pm
Mary Wing:

Four chords sounds about right for most radio songs, yeah.
