Glad you're feeling better. My wife was just diagnosed with pneumonia today-sucks being ill!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm
KimSorise:

Oh jeez - that’s terrible! I hope she feels better soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm
Jeff Golick:

Hello, Kim.

@doctorjazz: so sorry to hear that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm
doctorjazz:

Thanks, me too. Knew she was ill since Friday, but only had mild cough, low grade fevers. Temps went to 103 and she wouldn't get of bed, not eating, barely drinking. I pretty much knew it, brought her for an x-ray which confirmed it. She started antibiotics, hopefully kick in quickly...

listener james from westwood:

Argh, doc, sorry also to hear it! Hoping for a smooth course out of that junk!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
doctorjazz:

Thanks, James.
Jeff, you going to any services with some great jazz players getting their horns out for part of the service this year? Always gets me jealous (actually do like the services near me, Chazan has a really nice voice, and makes the old cliche of Chazanic melodies being Jewish Blues almost seem true! He can really get good melisma going!

Jeff Golick:

@doc: good memory. Was standing next to Marty Ehrlich this morning at one point. (Didn't say hello.) He played the scrolls through the building.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm
doctorjazz:

Yeah, that's what I meant. I have to get to services in Brooklyn one of these days. (one of those things I miss about Brooklyn/Park Slope, though Brooklyn wasn't nearly as happening when I lived there.

Doug Schulkind:

Lucille! Nina!! Kim!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm
Jeff Golick:

(fwiw, @doc, the services I attend are open to all; no ticket required -- come on by, whenever)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm
doctorjazz:

Have gotten many Trip records over the years (though haven't seen any recently), many are of pretty poor sound quality.
@Jeff, I remember 2 temples way back when on 8th Avenue on either side of the Slope. Which one do you go to?
(I have friends who go to services in the Lower East Side that sound great as well).
  7:39pm
Doug Schulkind:

Actually, Continental Subway will be filling in for Neighbors Noise tomorrow. That means host David Dichelle will be on for SIX big hours, 4-10pm (eastern). That’s 10pm-4am Leipzig time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm
KimSorise:

Yeah- glad I didn’t pay more than a few bucks. I only have trip 45s and they are about what you would expect.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm
Jeff Golick:

10pm to 4am -- subway goes all night in Leipzig!

(@doc: 8th Ave, South Slope, around 10th St.)
