@Aaron: If my brain wasn't on strike, I'd remember the intro an repeat, but, basically an analogue (insert technology) testing a multiple phone lines around 1978, the narrator was speaking from 2003, and said the fidelity was better then digital fidelity in 2003, and this recording was used at the conference to demonstrate said technology (still in development). as for the situation we find these characters, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Listening at same time to this and rare recording of Annapurna Devi, highly regarded bass sitar player who was married to Ravi Shankar in early life and withdrew from the public and performing for many decades up to her death last week. I wasn't familiar with her story. Now music she created is braided with just plain folks a'talkin' on the line.

My auto update: had air put in my tires this morning. The garage closer to my work than my usual place has a great vibe and is walking distance to coffee shops and everything, but I feel that isn't a good enough reason to switch garages.

@b/p I use Parry Motors on Warren Ave. because they are Toyota specialists but Morrill's Corner would be closer. Cumberland Ave. Garage is where I go when I need air since all the gas station air machines are out of service these days, and it is a really pleasant space (spider plants in each window!) but I feel more comfortable taking my car to repair people who focus on my particular type of car.

As still b/p noted earlier, this is Annapurna Devi, previously married to Ravi Shankar but stopped playing publicly at an early age. These are some of the few recordings that exist apparently recorded secretly in 1950 or so I'm told. She just passed away. More info on her: en.wikipedia.org...
