Agreed, Michael. The Secretary of State runs that stuff for each state. Look at Georgia: The SecState is running for governor, so he's actually controlling his own election. The tales of voter rights suppression there are astonishing.

I believe there may be vague ideas about developing the area in the picture. On the other hand, those things tend to take a very long time here, with ownership rights often unclear in the area.

That picture could just as easily be Jersey City or Detroit. This Les Colocs track has really turned into something great, hasn't it. Started slowly and the momentum picked up, and now it's just like a great big locomotive, steaming down the tracks (you know, the tracks that used to be in your picture.)

In another life, I might have liked being a cultural anthropologist, traveling the world, meeting people and studying their art, their music, their food...the musical connections aren't as unlikely as they would seem when you consider the countries of origin of those settlers in the Appalachians, for example.

I've intentionally stayed away from any news today. We really won't know anything until the polls close (8 pm in the Eastern Time Zone), and a lot of tight races are out West, so it may very well be tomorrow morning before we know anything. One thing that worries me is if Trump loses, like really gets hammered, will he question the legitimacy of the voting?
