Hello, Tony, the Coultered, the counter-Coultered, the under-the-counter Coultered, and just reg'lar folks stopping by for a bite and a brew.

There is brew, right, Host Tony?

Peter Meyer, new to me!
Avatar 12:47pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey, hey, NGH! I'm on the hunt for two cassettes Meyer released in the early '80s. His only releases, as far as I know.
Avatar 12:47pm
Hams:

ah, great. very cool.
Avatar 1:00pm
Tony Coulter:

That Susan Howe track just on was recorded live at the Ear Inn on Spring St. in NYC. Anyone here ever been there? I was there many times in the '90s and early 2000s. The owner used to (co)publish Ear Magazine.
Avatar 1:05pm
Tony Coulter:

It's still around, btw.
Avatar 1:12pm
northguineahills:

Loved that Susan Howe.... and British Summer Time Ends..., is that an ironic title like the band, A Sunny Day in Glasgow? (we all know there is no summer in the UK)..
Avatar 1:14pm
Tony Coulter:

Susan Howe has done a bunch of albums with David Grubbs -- none of which I've heard.
Avatar 1:18pm
northguineahills:

Oh, that's where I've heard her before!
Avatar 1:20pm
northguineahills:

@Tony: I've been rather intoxicated there in around 2000-2001, so my memory is rather blurry. (when I wasn't in grad school, or studying, I seemed to be inebriated (actually, I would study at shows as well....)

Tony Coulter:

I can still read French, and understand spoken French pretty well, but I've *really* lost my ability to speak and write it -- or come up with words when necessary. It's a totally passive knowledge at this point. And to think I was once almost bilingual. Oh well....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
steveo:

i'm sort of like that with Spanish. It's a real effort to speak.

When I went to Montreal every year from 2005-2010 (I helped promoted the Mutek fest), my Quebecois got rather good, but, I now need to think before I speak (I was embarrassed in Paris in 2011).
Avatar 2:01pm
Tony Coulter:

"Embarrassed in Paris": that's a good name for a song, book, or movie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm

and thinking before speaking is always a good thing. IMHO.

Well, you created this conundrum when you picked this dude's record to play--you went all the way back to 1976 for it!

I bet most people wouldn't guess this is Judas Priest--I know I didn't.
