Random thought-just like the calcite picture at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC (About 110th st. near Columbia U) there is a quartz crystal about as big as a medium sized or large dog there. It is wild looking.

WFMU chat boards remind me of this bar a short-lived band I played bass for went one time: hippies, bikers and cowboys, all drinking and chilling out. It was about 10 miles outside Alamogordo towards Ruidoso. Nice view of the mountains of Cloudcroft.
