Hello Jesse and all
Avatar 3:02am
Diezel Tea:

We salute ye, JD.

Hey fred. What's the good word?
Avatar 3:03am
Jesse Dorris:

he-he-hello, friends! Stay with me this week, won't you?
Avatar 3:04am
Jesse Dorris:

How's life treating you?
Avatar 3:05am
Diezel Tea:

I've almost finished my tenure as a bronchitis victim, and as a bonus it's lead to 2 days at this point of not smoking, so perhaps I'll finally quit again.
Avatar 3:06am
ben abs:

Yes.! Early start, slight hangover, got a boat across the thames yesterday. Morning Jesse, DT, fred
Avatar 3:09am
Diezel Tea:

How were the waters ben abs? Rough or ticklish? YES to JARBOE!!!
Avatar 3:09am
Jesse Dorris:

Do it Diezel! I quit cold turkey many moons ago. For me, the trick was: you think you're going to lose your mind. Then maybe you do lose your mind? Then it comes back and you just want a cigarette every day for the rest of your life, but you don't smoke one. Plus 10/15 pounds weight gain, but who is counting.
Avatar 3:16am
B/wad:

Good morning Poly-glottal stop smoking =))

Morning Jesse and ears around the world.

Hey Jesse and evryone. Snow coming down down down here in Finland. Air's fresh.
Avatar 3:21am
B/wad:

The glottal stop is a type of consonantal sound used in many spoken languages, produced by obstructing airflow in the vocal tract or, more precisely, the glottis. The symbol in the International Phonetic Alphabet that represents this sound is ⟨⟨ʔ⟩⟩. Using IPA, this sound is known as a glottal plosive.

Morning David, B/wad. Diezel, the waters were shimmery. No fishing involved
Avatar 3:26am
B/wad:

Hey ben abs, round which bridge was you?
Avatar 3:35am
B/wad:

Once heard an 'FMU DJ say dub music was ideal for headphones when walking, cuz it just kinda goes on and on....it's also great for rainy days indoors. Tel Aviv waves through the clouds this AM.
Avatar 3:36am
Diezel Tea:

I quit once for 5 years because there was too much waying against it - they became $5+/pack, then you couldn't smoke at the pub or diner, then I got bronchitis, and woke up one day and just quit. the 10-15 lbs of weight took me forever to lose. I'm not looking forward to that again. I might go the patch or vape route just to get nicotine back into my system, but ugh, I'll be unable to wear most of my trousers or suits in 2 weeks. I promise. Fat, it's going to be a displeasure to make your acquaintance once more...
  3:38am
Johnzon:

i quit smoking cold turkey... it took about 3 weeks for the cravings to mostly go away. after that I only got cravings when watching film noire for a couple years. I also started smoking spliffs at some point so that probably didn't help. still enjoy smoking weed and will occasionally hit a blunt but other than that tobacco free for years. I only smoked for 2 years tho, got up to about half a pack a day. My dad also quit cold turkey ON thanksgiving after smoking for ten years... but its probably different for everyone. if you've already quit for two days tho might as well go for it. It took me two attempts... first time I made it a week or two. second attempt was a month or two later. this is probably way tmi. idk. sorry.

@B/wad, none, unfortunately. Walked from Clapton to Peckham, crossed the river at Canary Wharf. Gotta say i am mightily impressed and jealous of the will power floating around this comments board! Good luck DT!

This track is quite the snack btw
Avatar 3:45am
Jay/London:

good morning all just checking in
  3:48am
Johnzon:

my will power is not worth being jealous of... today I woke up at noon and watched about five hours of youtube videos. Feel pretty disgusted with myself. quitting smoking is easier the earlier you do it I think... definitely glad I did/grateful it was relatively easy for me. it helps if you're not around other smokers too
  3:49am
Johnzon:

good show! good night all
Avatar 3:51am

Night Johnzon. @Jesse you get into that тпсб Sekundenschlaf record put out by blackest ever black? Feel like you'd dig it
Avatar 3:53am

I wish I had quit cold turkey after 2 years, jesus marlboroman christ, it's been 20 years minus that 5 year marathon in the middle. To more important matters - Jesse you've been killing this set. ))
Avatar 3:53am
Jesse Dorris:

Thanks johnzon! Let's all hope for strength, for our lungs and bodies and...hearts. Hey @ben abs, I love that record! I played the first track of it a couple weeks ago I think? It's fascinating.
