Beats mismatched. New mystic moods. The International Style. Pressed and dressed. Queasy listening. New ways to fail. More is more. Backroom room tones.

Hey Fox, thanks for joining us. This is an oddly like Alien Sex Fiend-y track for Job Sifre but I personally am into it.

And THIS, ladies and gentleman and those otherwise indisposed---THIS Peaking Lights track is wild.

You mean Job Sifre is NOT a David Byrne solo project from the Catherine Wheel era?
Avatar 3:24am

Haha he only plays one on the radio.

What a great set! (It’s changed a bit since I started writing this, but) A lot of artists I don’t know playing music that rrrreallly takes me back to the early 80s, but not in a derivative sounding way—more like continuing in that tradition (& that’s one of my favorite traditions). Probably going to have to catch most of the rest via the archives later, but thanks. So glad I tuned in just to see what might be on FMU at this hour.
Avatar 3:43am
Jesse Dorris:

Aww thanks, Ron! That means a lot. Thanks for your ears and take a dig through the archives, there's lot's more where this comes from ;)

Lost Cause:

I've seen Jamie Lidell 3 times. one of the best concerts I saw was a Warp Records line up in a shady warehouse in L.A. back in 03. I remember there were actually homeless people having bum fights outside. Great concert though, especially Nightmares on Wax, he's amazing live.
Avatar 3:51am
Jesse Dorris:

He put on a really mindblowing glitch set in his Muddlin Gear days, and then when he came back around in his Soul Man guise it was a shock. But his charisma, let's call it, made it work for sure.

Anyone out there heard the new BMB? I'm curious if it's a new album proper or just a mix of old tracks....

when you said Michel Legrand earlier I though, does he mean Jean Jarre? lol. surprised you're playing jazz on here. interesting.
Avatar 4:23am
Jesse Dorris:

Haha, no. There's a great deal besides jazz in his vast catalog, especially covers....
Avatar 4:25am

I had no idea. Well, as we can see in current events, the French are full of surprises. looking forward to it.
