Hello Jesse and all
What a great start! (I love Femenine)

Jesse Dorris:

Thanks, Fred! Isn't it amazing. And there's a whole bunch of goodies coming up on this, the Second Annual Polyglot Pride Extravaganza!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15am
fred:

That reminds me I really should get Unjust Malaise. I guess I'll give the local record stores one more try before ordering it online (gotta support the stores that remain if I can)
Avatar 3:17am
Jesse Dorris:

I sure hope someone local is stocking it, it's an essential release!

Good gracious morning.

Dave in Vermont:

what year is this Emerald City from?
Avatar 4:13am
Jesse Dorris:

I think 1977? There are a couple episodes up on YouTube, they're all really interesting.
  4:18am
b wad:

This is indeed very interesting.
And I’m not just saying that because I’m in line picking up a package at the post office.

Indeed. I never knew how this worked. I wish us straights could get on your level.
Avatar 4:27am

Well....there's a bit of science fiction to this depiction, I suspect. And yet, and yet.

Goyim in the AM:

As a straight kid who grew up in the 70s in the suburbs surrounded by gay culture without actually knowing it (parents in show biz), this is amazing to listen to: the voices and speech patterns are so familiar and comfortable to me, describing a world I never knew and didn't know existed until it was gone.
Avatar 4:31am
Jesse Dorris:

haha @Diciasette, if you do one then perhaps you can do the other all for yourself
  4:31am
b wad:

@Goyim: SO interesting...
Avatar 4:32am
Jesse Dorris:

Hey @goyim, that's super interesting to hear. I do feel like there's something so recognizable in their cadence but I can't tell if it's just sort of homosuperior wishful thinking. And the doom around the corner can't dim the joy they seem to be experiencing. Sigh.
Avatar 4:33am
Jesse Dorris:

Meanwhile let's all decriminalize sex work, stat.

And get into this Amanda Lear cover.

Hear, hear (to both).
  4:38am

@Jesse Doris: That’s fitting, as I’ve just picked up a painting of a toy rocket ship that my friend sent me from London. Check out @peterjonesart to see it on IG.

I'll check it out!

Avatar 5:05am

Whew, glad to hear it, @CuriousTom. Almost threw myself out the window with all that loss by the end of the last set. Patrick Cowley to the rescue!!

Morning everyone!
Avatar 5:22am
Jesse Dorris:

Morning @Cmurtha! How's Tuesday?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am
Cmurtha:

Goes alright, woke up late, talked to amigos instead of starting work, and now here I am! How are things over in the states?
Avatar 5:25am
Jesse Dorris:

It's rainy and World Pride and there's a passel of Patrick Cowley in the speakers. Shrug? And of course otherwise a total hellscape of a country. But wait until you hear the breakdown on this song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27am
Cmurtha:

I mean the U.S being 3rd world is hard to deal with, but I will be back there soon enough. When is pride in the city? I know my friends in Columbus did community pride last week.
Avatar 5:28am
Jesse Dorris:

It starts tomorrow, if there is a tomorrow!
Avatar 5:28am

Although it started a couple hours ago in this here studio.

I can't believe this song, as far as I can tell, has never really gotten a release, nevermind a reissue. It's a masterpiece.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am

I love, love how 70s and 80s this song is at the same time.
