	7:17pm Flash Strap: i mean the whole reason he used the term microphone music for this hyper-rehearsed jazz was an acknowledgement of the studio / recording process (microphone) as a crucial transformative aspect (& member even) of the group and the music. reminds one of Beefheart, Van Dyke Parks, etc.

	7:18pm Flash Strap: you can see too in this hyper-rehearsal aspect a straight line into synth recording, a kind of quest for the perfect and unperformable
	7:21pm Flash Strap: Scott's compositions were independent any cartoon production, more like audio cartoons in a way. Later they were used for cartoons, sometimes by Stalling (as in the case w/ Powerhouse). Stalling (very inspired by Scott) more directly scored cartoons,
	7:22pm Flash Strap: from the wikipedia article, a bit that i find interesting: Chuck Jones and the other Looney Tunes directors sometimes complained about Stalling's proclivity for musical quotation and punning. In an interview, Jones complained: “ He was a brilliant musician. But the quickest way for him to write a musical score was to simply look up some music that had the proper name. If there was a lady dressed in red, he'd always play "The Lady in Red". If somebody went into a cave, he'd play "Fingal's Cave". If we were doing anything about eating, he'd do "A Cup of Coffee, a Sandwich and You". I had a bee one time, and my God, if he didn't go and find a piece of music written in 1906 or something called "I'm a Busy Little Bumble Bee"

	7:18pm Flash Strap: you can see too in this hyper-rehearsal aspect a straight line into synth recording, a kind of quest for the perfect and unperformable
	7:21pm Flash Strap: Scott's compositions were independent any cartoon production, more like audio cartoons in a way. Later they were used for cartoons, sometimes by Stalling (as in the case w/ Powerhouse). Stalling (very inspired by Scott) more directly scored cartoons,
	7:22pm Flash Strap: from the wikipedia article, a bit that i find interesting: Chuck Jones and the other Looney Tunes directors sometimes complained about Stalling's proclivity for musical quotation and punning. In an interview, Jones complained: “ He was a brilliant musician. But the quickest way for him to write a musical score was to simply look up some music that had the proper name. If there was a lady dressed in red, he'd always play "The Lady in Red". If somebody went into a cave, he'd play "Fingal's Cave". If we were doing anything about eating, he'd do "A Cup of Coffee, a Sandwich and You". I had a bee one time, and my God, if he didn't go and find a piece of music written in 1906 or something called "I'm a Busy Little Bumble Bee"
