greetings Scott and doubly horseless people
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm
Scott Williams:

Hey pals! Thanks for being here. 2nd set will start with Can performing live in '75 with TIM HARDIN as their singer! I didn't believe it either. It is so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm
doctorjazz:

Sounded a bit like Eddie Lang on guitaron the Gene Austin track (not able to confirm on a quick search on the internets).
And...hi.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm
Scott Williams:

@doctorjazz, Otto "Coco" Heimel was the cat on the date
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29pm
doctorjazz:

Thanks, Scott (had Lang's edgy acoustic guitar tone, but not his odd timing, makes sense)

@Franco Twinkie, Can agreed with you - 2 gigs and Hardin was out... for a variety of reasons

You know what bugged me about UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD? He heard about 10 seconds of the Deep Forest Pygmy tune and proclaimed it the most beautiful thing ever.

Ike:

Cool beans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm
ParUbi:

It takes *way* more than ten seconds to realize that!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm
ParUbi:

Well, that "Gabon : Pygmées Bibayak - Pygmies Epic Cantors" album *is* pretty keen. Just don't make it dance music.
Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 10:43pm
chresti:

i have not seen the movie

Thanks for filling in for the horse show, Scott, goodnight everyone!

northguineahills:

@ParUbi: I'm dancing to Ignatz right now, does that make it dance music?

All I remember about Deep Forest is my college gf listened to them....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
coelacanth∅:

when i first heard the "deep forest pygmy tune" c.1992 i was enamored by it within 10 seconds. got the album and loved the whole thing first time and for a few years.
i listened to it a couple of years ago and couldn't seem to get past the cheesy synthesisers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm
coelacanth∅:

gnight chresti
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm
ParUbi:

Now I'm inadvertently repeating the error by playing music of the Aka people at the same time as this show
Avatar 10:52pm

I have a different release of Knott's Berry Farm Molly.

(chilliest E around!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm

all sounds can be danced to, ngh! i had that on tape too, coel. I thankfully lost it, but remember playing it a good number of times
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm
ParUbi:

good night, chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm
coelacanth∅:

right ParUbi, cassette also... it was a favorite in the natural foods store where i worked at the time. probably 1-2x/week for a couple of years
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm
Franco Twinkie:

It gives me pleasure to think of John Fahey at Knott's Berry Farm, which is such a dopey kind of place. But probably when he recorded that, it still had some of it's rustic charm, at least the Frito-Lay mine train.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm
JtotheK:

Digging the tunes, and really like 'The Wind'. Good evening Mr. Williams, hi everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
ParUbi:

@Coel-- I wonder how much money the Baka people (etc.) got from their success
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
Scott Williams:

G'd'evenin' JtotheK! It's a doozy, innit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm
coelacanth∅:

good question ParUbi
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm
Franco Twinkie:

I heard that one time Neil Young invited himself onto the stage while Spirit was playing - you know, neighbors in Topanga Canyon, and Randy California threw him right off! I guess Neil thought he was in San Francisco.
Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 11:49pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks for the cyber-tunes tonght, Scott. See ya in the near future.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm
coelacanth∅:

haha Franco you think it's true?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm
Franco Twinkie:

Who the hell knows, but rock drunk rock stars, could have happened.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm
coelacanth∅:

definitely. and a reward for arrogance served up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm
coelacanth∅:

what a closer...almost!
range life could be the closer every night.
(or the penultimate track every night)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm
Franco Twinkie:

It happened! And strangely, it was the demise of Spirit!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm
