Beats mismatched. New mystic moods. The International Style. Pressed and dressed. Queasy listening. New ways to fail. More is more. Backroom room tones.

Special thanks to Scott for operating the boards so well, on his birthday no less!

Tonight I'm listening back to the astonishing work of Mike Huckaby, who passed a few days ago. True Detroit house legend! Lots of treats in store....

Happy birthday Scott!

Good thanks Jesse, all things considered. How is the Glotalmeister?

Ignatatus666:

The sounds tonight have been incredible
@scott I’m tuned in since the end of Radio Ravioli and every show has had excellent sound until now
Now it’s super excellent
@Jesse
Yikes!!!!

Jesse Dorris:

I'm doing ok! Thankful to have internet this week, unlike last time. And to continue to be safe and sound, as I hope you all are!
Avatar 3:41am
Jesse Dorris:

This one has such an Arthur Russell feeling to me...
Avatar 3:56am
Jesse Dorris:

The *very last* time I went out before the pandemic hit, the DJ played "Been Waiting" and it was just so damn epic.
Avatar 3:57am
Jesse Dorris:

Little did we know...
Avatar 4:05am
Ignatatus666:

I hope you have been getting some air Sir.
Avatar 4:06am
Jesse Dorris:

Air? Never heard of it. I imagine the roads aren't any better yet?
Avatar 4:13am
Ignatatus666:

By you they are
That was hopeful. Last week during rush hour was the most cars I’ve seen at once in almost 2 months. I was happy. I have been watching closely with the traffic flows on Friday and Saturday evening in Westchester. I think people are getting out but only to parks and Walmart.Walmart is the first place that should have been shut down
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16am
fred:

Last dance show I saw was March 3rd. Next one will be at best in September. I think I've never had more than two months without seeing one for 25 years. I don't even want to think about concerts (though small ones might come back earlier)
Avatar 4:18am
Jesse Dorris:

Yeah @ignatatus those seem likely destinations.
Avatar 4:18am
Jesse Dorris:

@fred I know the feeling. This is easily the longest I've ever been without some nightlife in all my adult life. It's hard to imagine how to return to it, and how to not return to it.
Avatar 4:19am
Jesse Dorris:

And first Weatherall goes, and now Huckaby...what the hell is going on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26am
fred:

And I've never worked more than these days. I just had to stop last week when I realized I was close to hitting the 65 hour mark. More work and no live events isn't a good combination.
At least there's radio. I'd have gone insane weeks ago without WFMU (though maybe I already was, which would explain a lot)

I don’t mind the drive. I go to Brooklyn every week which is the same distance
Avatar 4:30am
Jesse Dorris:

@Fred figuring out what time is work time and what to do with the rest is a real hinge
Avatar 4:31am
Jesse Dorris:

Hey @malcolm how's your morning?
Avatar 4:36am
Jesse Dorris:

Drive ins should surely make things easier!
Avatar 4:39am
Malcolm:

fine thanks, trying to approach things slowly and deliberately today, rather than feeling i should be doing everything at once.
Avatar 4:46am

That seems like a very good approach

@Malcolm who can even tell anymore?
Avatar 5:54am

Aww thanks @testingwithfire! His hits are bit more footstomping but I really love this softer side, it's very proto-Parade-era Prince
