Hello Jan and all. This song tells me to stop working and call it a day

Mr Fab:

Hi Jan! Earlier this morn, Jason played a real cool song by an ‘80s band from Rotterdam called Dojoji. Familiar with them?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm
fred:

@Mr Fab: Maybe listener Jeroen knows them (he's in Rotterdam)
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:23pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Mr. Fab. It doesn't immediately ring a bell...
Avatar 2:24pm
Mr Fab:

Oh, and nice to hear the Kate Bush again. All the alterna-dudes used to have a crush on her, ha ha..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm
fred:

@Mr Fab: Not just those: I was introduced to her music by a bunch of metalhead bikers I was hanging out with in high school. Metallica in public, but switching to Kate later in the evening after a few beers/joints
Avatar 2:49pm
Mr Fab:

Fred, that is hilarious. She cast quite a spell over the menfolk (and probably a few womenfolk, too)
Avatar 2:54pm
Domenic:

Thought I was the only one smitten with Kate!
Avatar 2:55pm
Linda Lee:

Elvis Costello! that's it!
hello!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:56pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Linda, Hi Domenic! I never could choose between Kate and Debbie
Avatar 2:58pm
Linda Lee:

how are you today Jan?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 2:59pm
Jan Turkenburg:

mwoaaaa.... and you, Linda?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm
fred:

@Mr Fab: These guys were quite open minded musically. Of course rooted in Metallica/Slayer/Anthrax (not much Megadeath though), but later at night they would even play... Yes or Genesis
Avatar 3:01pm
Linda Lee:

fine, thank you! love hearing the *real* United States of America.
Avatar 3:02pm
Linda Lee:

really love it. when was this released?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:02pm
Jan Turkenburg:

1968
Avatar 3:03pm
Linda Lee:

fantastic!!
Avatar 3:03pm
Linda Lee:

& this Buz Rice is totally delicious.
Avatar 3:06pm
Mr Fab:

Hi Linda! Yep, would take The United States Of America over America any day. Actually, naming your band after a continent is rarely good news: Europe, Asia...(tho there was a band called Africa who were pretty cool.)
Avatar 3:08pm
Listening Out There:

Jan, is it like this? Herman van Veen = Netherlands' answer to Johnny Holiday -- Johnny Holiday = Frances' answer to Elvis -- Elvis = White America's answer to R&B...
Avatar 3:09pm
Linda Lee:

hi Mr F! here's my question: doesn't the north american continent include 2 nations? am i confused about this?
Avatar 3:10pm
Linda Lee:

you're right, though. rarely good news.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Herman and a few others like Liesbeth List and Ramses Shaffy, martine Bijl certainly started somewhere at that point, but Herman van Veen very much soon developped a style, or styles of his own,
Avatar 3:11pm
Linda Lee:

i'm loving this Dorothy Carter far too much.
Avatar 3:13pm
Linda Lee:

are you somehow getting a line on what i need to hear today, Jan?
are you some kind of magician? :-D
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:13pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-)
Avatar 3:17pm
Linda Lee:

opium for my ears! :-)
Avatar 3:17pm
Domenic:

I can't see the screen very clearly when it has a cyan background and white lettering! LOL
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
Jan Turkenburg:

the secret word is refresh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
fred:

@Domenik: that happens sometimes when the playlist is updated while another tab is active. Just refresh and the right colors come back
Avatar 3:20pm
Linda Lee:

refresh!! refreshing!
Avatar 3:21pm
Linda Lee:

exercice de'quilibre: balance exercise?

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:22pm
Jan Turkenburg:

world famous in The Netherlands in the sixties
Avatar 3:23pm
Mr Fab:

it IS a clear day here. This is quite exotic, actually. All that percussion, I guess.
Avatar 3:24pm
Linda Lee:

wow! world famous! :-)
Avatar 3:26pm
Linda Lee:

may i please just dematerialize & live in this song as just another wave?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:27pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-)
Avatar 3:29pm
Linda Lee:

wouldn't that be great though? experiencing a great song physically like that? just waves ~ like swimming in water!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
fred:

"world famous in the Netherlands" reminds me of when I say to a friend he's doing a "world tour" if he plays in two different cities within a year (he doesn't like playing live, though he sometimes actually plays in other countries, even once in an arena in Australia)
Avatar 3:31pm
Mr Fab:

Playing a song called "Miss Wet T-Shirt " after Ike Reiko? I see what you did there!
Avatar 3:32pm
Linda Lee:

sure doesn't sound like he's into touring, fred!
can't blame him.
Avatar 3:32pm
Mr Fab:

living as another wave inside a song is a fantastic concept, Linda.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
Jan Turkenburg:

It's all connected, Mr. Fab! :-)
Avatar 3:34pm
Linda Lee:

that's my mind for ya. :-)
