@GST, I hope somewhere in the marketing materials it says "Stick it in your ear"!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Actually… This is the candy of the future. As it will be shipped in the future. All because of an accident between our candy drop roller and a time machine. We don't like to talk about that.

This candy has been unavailable for some time, but we decided to bring it back for Towel Day 2019.

We brought it back in the flavor of Lemon Meringue Pie. Made to celebrate Towel Day, the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy day to celebrate the works of Douglas Adams. Made on one of our oldest candy machines that pre-dates the Civil War. For you to eat, not for you to stick in your ear. Really.

@12:57 Julie: the show I saw was delayed so some people might have missed most of it - they announced you could get your money back if you left before so-and-so PM. There were all these stage props etc. and then some electrical problem came about, threatening the whole show and therefore causing a delay of what, two hours? And since I was only back of the balcony, standing, and without my glasses, I saw almost nothing...

Wow sorry to hear that. I keep hoping they will put a video out

@photocopy cha cha I saw Aldous Harding last year and had a similar experience. Bar with only a slightly elevated stage, no seating for the audience, and Aldous decided to do 90% of the show seated on stage. Probably nice for the front row...

@spod--I hear ya on Ben and Jerry but my respect for Ben continues to grow--he had a great short-lived comedy show in the early 90s and I think he helped write Tropic Thunder, which I think is like a comedic masterpiece in some ways. Sorry for delay--I am working from home

Yes, Julie, I also agree with what those fine people said about Bare Trees @1:10 (future Games also). I understand if the early blues stuff from 1968 or so does not interest you (me neither) but Then Play On is already otherworldly, like most other things from Fleetwood Mac's Danny Kirwan era.

And records from that era are spotty at best for me these days, Julie!

@Ch Cha: not sure if it’s still in print (I have it somewhere on vinyl) but CDs are selling for $50+ so maybe not, but “Frozen Love” is the highlight of that LP, imo

@1:29 Julie: just checked, still no official re-release. There are some that might not be strictly illegal (due to differences in copyright laws) but nothing official as in artist-sanctioned from original tapes (well, these might not exist because of Universal fire)

When I meet David (in London) (in London?), if he's not wearing a Union Flag outfit like the Jam, I'm going to be disappointed.

Fortunately, ale and pickle will quickly cure it.

I had that Buck./Nicks album back circa '77. I think they reprised some material for their 1st F. Mac lp

Hi Handy - I suppose I'll have to sport my sporran for you?
Avatar 1:37pm

@1:32 Daya: I think those cd's might be of the semi-legal kind I mentioned @1:34 Frozen Love of course is the highlight, but a solid classic that album
Avatar 1:38pm
Photocopy Cha Cha:

@1:36 Julie: well not exactly bootleg, like in Japan these are somehow legally made I assume, if not sanctioned by the artist
Avatar 1:39pm

@Cha Cha oh yes I play her fairly regularly

Yes! When I was working at Musicland in the 70s, I stocked B-N on both cassette AND 8-track ;)
It was on Polydor I think.

@1:41 Julie: I was not even around late 60s and hardly remember late 70s, but yes cassettes were the thing in Finland, like I said before somewhere @ wfmu, no 8-tracks here.

I remember listening the shit out of the first King Crimson album on a commercial cassette that a friend's older brother had, for probably a couple of years, and because of where it was, it had to be around 1973. I think Moonchild got kind of warbly after a while.

Dinnae fash, Stanley. My mom's family came over in the 1760s and pretty much lost all records or sense of history pretty damn fast, as best I can tell, and I got a kilt, sgian dubh, and (vegetarian) sporran anyways. Culture is as culture does, and I'd rather wear a kilt than suit, that's for damn sure.

Also, always fun to cut my eggplant parm with a sgian dubh on New Year's Eve (Hogmanay)!

@spodiodi, Michael 98145, thanks! The band has a new and excellent drummer since last fall. She's lost her work. So they are giving all money that comes in through Bandcamp and other sources directly to Erin (you can hear her drumming on the Shook Ones New York City EP, which is excellent).

And they are hoping to have a couple of new singles to put up for the next Bandcamp Friday!

Julie, your liking it means so much to Kate! That was a total thrill -- her first radio play! Between Nostradamus and Cocteau Twins!

I missed the Robyn/syd show, as I am not sure if those Stageit shows would play on my systems (outdated browsers and/or outdated /experimental OS's on my computers), so I became tight-pursed even though $5 is not that much for just supporting the artists (yes, it was not free unless someone payed you in). Great show, Julie! Thank you and thnks for the Robyn info. I saw him a couple of years ago at "the Winery" and he was giving autographs afterwards and posing for pics, so I got in line and when we went to take the pic.
